Is anyone not giving their children cows milk? If so, what type of milk (if any) are you using? Everyone in our drinks soy, but when my daughter turns one we are thinking of giving her almond milk instead. Not even to drink, just in the foods we would normally add milk to - like cereal. She will get her calcium from better, non dairy sources (fish, spinach, tofu, ect.

We are a vegan family. My disabled 4 year old son drinks soya formula milk. It is dry and comes in a tin. I put water in a bottle and add the scopes of the power. Then I give the bottle a shake. My 2 year old daughter drinks fresh soya drink that I keep in my fridge. You could try almond milk. I wouldn't advise rice milk. Good luck with giving your daughter milk of some kind other than dairy to drink.

According to my mom, when I was born I was lactose intolerant. So I just throw up the milk I consume. They ended up feeding me Nursoy. Its soy "milk".

I drink 1% or lowfat. I recently read that skim milk does not provide our body with the nutrients that lowfat does and 2% is too thick and heavy to absorb the vitamins. 1% is just right. So I now drink that. In the artical, it also used young children and the school system when they show that lowfat is given to children and it helps with growth and has proven lack of weight gain.

Hi, For my son, I still let him drink milk formula from Mead Johnson..he has been sticking to this product since he was born and I don't intend to change his milk formula to other brand at this moment. As for me, I don't drink milk because I don't like the taste. I only drank milk during my first pregnancy . It is good that your daughter do eat fish and tofu. They are very nutritious food and good for her health. For my son, I also encourage him to eat more fish and vegetables. But he dislike meat.
