Sled dogs

Do huskies really make the best sled dogs? Are siberians faster than malamutes? I know malamutes are stronger but would they then be faster over a long distance? Or is there a better sled dog than a husky?

Huskies are a good bit quicker than a Malamute. The mal however can pull more & go for a longer distance. It really depends on what you need as to which would be the best. If your going for speed then huskies would be the way to go. For distance or a heavy load you'd want mals. Many mushers actually use a combination of the two. They use a team of mostly huskies with a couple mals near the rear of the team. The mals get the load moving , the huskies keep the packs speed up.
