Hi everybody!
I just thought about this lately. I'm still single and if ever I have children in the future, I'm thinking of naming them after my favorite thespians. I have a couple of favorite actors which include Hugh Laurie, Hugh Jackman, and currently, Ted Levine, whose birth name is Frank Theodore and plays the character Leland Stottlemeyer in the TV show Monk. If ever I'll have a son, I'd like his name to be Hugh Leland Theodore. I know, it's ridiculous. I remember a certain episode of Saturday Night Live's weekend update segment about naming a child and the joke was something like when the child grows up, the parents want the child to be a law firm, lol That is because some law firms' names are usually comprised of the surnames of the lawyers. And for a girl, I haven't thought about it yet.
Do you have a child and did you name him/her after a favorite actor/actress? How did you discuss it with your spouse or partner? Or are you considering in doing this in the future? Also, if you're a child who was named after your parent's favorite actor/actress, how do you feel about it?
Thanks and happy myLotting!

Naming children depends actually to the couple and it is very important the the couple agree to that. Well, my husband gave a name to my son after the name of the local actor here because he thought he looks like him hahaha and my daughter actually named after Nicole kidman, who is also a favorite of my husband. naming them could really make you think hehe have a good day!

this is an interesting topic, we have named our son after an actor. well more like after a character that he played. our son's middle name is Edward, after Robert Pattinson's character in Twilight. I am also named after Anneka Rice, as my middle name is Anneka. I like the idea of having a middle name after a favourite actor etc, as it helps your child to know what you, as a parent, were interested in when they were born.

I wouldn't name my children after a actor or actress that i like myself and neither would my wife, but aslong as the name isn't too odd theres nothing wrong with it. The child may not like it when he or she is older, but they may like it... you never know until they get older. Some people don't like there names even if they arn't named after a actor or actress so to me it doesn't matter either way.

I have to admit that I never thought about naming either of my children after my favorite actors and actresses. That said, in a sort of round about way, my daughter's name is after one of my favorite public figures. You see, her name is Kathryn Teresa. The Teresa part of her name came from Mother Teresa. However, it is also the first name of one of my best friends, so it wasn't directly Mother Teresa that influenced her name.

Nah. I would want to name my child after someone I, personally, found influential and fascinating. Maybe like Hypathia, who was a fantastic woman... most of my favorite poets kind of ended up killing themselves, so I would steer clear of name thing after my favorite poets! Haha. I think I would name my children something Biblical, to be honest, or after someone who had affected my life in a very positive way.
