Do you like to eat tomatoes cooked or in this original uncooked fresh form? I heard that it is better to eat cooked tomatoes. Is there a cooked tomato dish that you can recommend?

i like to eat tomata with cooking only. in india we make many recipes with tamota and daily we take tomato in any cooked form. in india we add tomatoes in soups, juices, mocktails, pasta, pizza, noodles, sauce, sandwich, upma, idli, omlette, stews, raita, sambhar, rasam, curries, salad, jam, pickle, chutney, biryani, poori, parata, uttappam ,snacks, and in any non veg curry items etc. we add tomato in other vegetables and make many curry recipes like paneer tomato, aloo gobi, tomato potato masala, tomato plaintain curry, tomato peas paneer curry, stuffed tomato ,drumstick tomato curry, tomato dal, and many more recipes we can prepare and we will take these curry recipes with rice. we should not eat processed, tinned or frozen tomatoes.we should take fresh tomatoes and can eat freshly daily. there will be vitamin A,C,K, in tomato and it has pottassium, iron, fiber, licopene(an antoxident),carbohydrate etc . if we eat fresh tomatoes ,then we can get less risk of rectal, colon, or stomach cancer.there will be no infections also for us ,if we take tomato. if we eat fresh tomato daily, our skin can glow. sunburn, wounds, sores can be healed when tomato pulp is applied. so we can take tomato in any form freshly eating, cooked,or apply for face as pack,or use for sunburn, wounds,or sores. try also in indian recipes i have told.

This is a good response! And I've marked it the best response! :) Thank you. I love indian curry too. And I knew it that it has a lot of spices thereby giving a lot of special effects for health. Didn't know the healing effects on wounds and sunburn :) but now I know!

It's better to eat tomatoes cooked because cooking develops the lycopene, but it destroys Vitamin C, so I don't know which is better. I love good, homegrown tomatoes either way and make my own tomato sauce whenever I have a good enough crop. I use the tomato sauce in spaghetti or meatloaf, soups and stews. Breaded tomatoes were one of my Mom's favorite dishes. You just chop a raw tomato into a couple of slices of bread, torn into bite sized pieces and cook it on low heat for a few minutes. You might need to put a little salt on it.

Maybe we should all be eating both, cooked and uncooked to get a balance of all the lycopene and Vitamin C :) I like that recipe you shared. Thank you for your response.

I like to eat tomatoes raw like in salad. But I have my favorite family soup recipe for tomatoes. Just boil some water, put in chicken stock, throw in the diced tomatoes and as soon as it start to boil add an egg to it. This is a simple soup yet very tasty and nutritious.

I like to eat uncooked tomatoes. All the summer my salads contain mainly fresh tomatoes and there are days when I don't need anything than a tomatoes salad. My favourites are the tomatoes from my parent's garden. They are fresh and so tasty , not like the ones from the supermarket. I can't wait to grow my own tomatoes, as soon as we will move to our house. I also like the tomatoes soup, with rice or with some noodles. I preffer it with noodles.

I like uncooked tomatoes too, but it has to be naturally sweet. I don't like those sour ones, there are lot in singapore that comes with a bit sourish, I think it is from Malaysia or China, not sure, but I love these ones in Budapest/Hungary. They are really delicious uncooked. Love it with sandwiches or salad like you do! :) Thanks for your response.
