Why do women gossip?

It does not matter who she is. A wife, mother, grandmother, sister. Women just like to gossip. Why is that?

Gossip is not limited to women in fact some men are into gossip as well. In some occasions it's even worse. Gossip is the outcome when people huddle in a group and have nothing else to do. They are the kind of average people that talks about people.

agree! i know my guy friends actually gossip MORE than the girls do. :)

Women are not the ONLY ones who gossip and not ALL women do it, either. I am a woman and I have never don it. It's completely pointless, not to mention rude. For that matter, none of the women I personally associate with do it, either.
