Why orkut failed to become facebook?

Orkut as we all know is backed up by the internet giant Google but yet it failed to give Facebook a run for their money. Orkut just couldn't live up to the challenge with facebook. Why despite having all a website could have Orkut failed? What do you think on this? Please share with me?
