Zidane or Ronaldo: Your favorite?

It is very difficult to pick one out of the two as both play in different positions. Zidane is the mastermind from the midfield making things happen. Ronaldo on the other hand is the master finisher finishing off the moves. I think both of them have had successful careers and have tasted both club and country success at major tournaments. I would not want to pick any one out of the two as the better. But a couple of points to ponder are Zidane kept himself free of any major injuries for most part of his career while Ronaldo lost major years to his injuries. On the other hand Zidane ended his career with probably his most ugliest moment, something which Ronaldo did not do though he did start his career with a red card at the world cup!! Cheers! Ram

It is zidane, by far, he atleast continued his greatness for so long, clear vision, unlike ronaldo. But you say these are 2 of the great era and that it is rare to have that? Well, let us look at the likes of 3, yes that is 3 great players over the past few years, kaka, messi and christiano ronaldo. All 3 have been on top of their form for years, they stood out more than any others, ok kaka isn't doing much now but he has in the past, just like the other 2. so in this era we have 3 greats.

Zindane for sure, is the better player. Ronaldo is more of a striker and Zindane is a playmaker. The latter is the heartbeat of the team while Ronaldo, he just finish off the great move of others.

Ronaldo was a great striker, Zidane was a great midfielder, so it is very hard to compare these two players. If we take the technical skills these two players had, I would say Ronaldo was better. If we look at tactical skills, then I have to choose Zidane. Ronaldo was faster than Zidane, but Zidane had more influence on the team's playing. Zidane was the man with the great passes, Ronaldo with the deadly finishing. They were both fantastic players, but I cannot decide who was better. If I were a coach, I would choose Zidane in my team instead of Ronaldo, because I like play makers more than strikers. But this doesn't mean that one is better than the other.

I love soccer very much. I know about Zidane and Ronaldo of Brazil. Your question is nice but it's hard to answer. Talking about Zidane and Ronaldo, it's like compare to other greatest players between Pele and Maradona, who is the greatest? Zidane has own unique skill when he played for his club and national of his country, and Ronaldo has unique skills too. If we give mark of number to two players, I can give 9 for both of them. Both of them are my best, but Ronaldo is most. Before Zidane played for Real Madrid, I don't like Zidane because I don't like Juventus, I like Inter Milan when Ronaldo played there. When Zidane countinued his career to Real Madrid and Ronaldo moved later on, I like both them. And I became fan of Inter and Real Madrid becaused of Ronaldo de Lima

I think a both of them!They are great players!But for me Ronaldo is better.Very good player with individual style of play.He wons every award of magazines and many others.But don`t forget and Zidane..... Everyone is good in his special way.....

Well its alittle hard to compare Zidane and Ronaldo. First thing, Zidane has retired and is a coaching staff of Real Madrid. Ronaldo on the other hand is still playing in the Brazilian league, and he is still scoring loads of goal! Ronaldo's finishing is insane, even though his weight is insane too! I do hope we can see more of Ronaldo in international matches before he retires. Hopefully he still have some more years of football left in him.

i think i like batistuta..but i admire both of them ronaldo and zinedine zidane.. both of them had a unique characteristics and ability..and off course had many a fanatic fans too

It difficult to compare these 2 great players, but my favorite one is definately Ronaldo, because he was a big part of why I began to interest me for soccer. Ronaldo was a great player. he has always scored many goals, both on the national team and in the clubs. He has also played in all the big clubs in Europe, such as Internazionale, Milan, Barcelona and Real Madrid. A great player, that I'll never forget. Zidane is also a unbelieable player. He is the best play-maker ever I think. And his goal against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League final in 2002, was just amazing. But as I said before it's difficult to compare them, because Ronaldo is forward, and Zidane midfielder. They are both great players in the world, but my favorite player is Ronaldo, ans it will always be.
