I moved from India to this country in North America 4 months ago and started my new job here a month ago. I hardly paid taxes in India and I got tax discounts for so many reasons 1) I am a woman 2)I made montly payments for life insurance 3) I had a mutual fund 4) I paid rent.
Now, in this country, I have to pay huge taxes. Around $400 go out of my every 2-week paycheck for taxes. Also, there are not many ways to get tax discounts. I just found that I got paid $6 less than last paycheck because the state tax is increased. I'm tired. I have heard that there are no taxes in Arab countries like Saudi because their governments make a lot of money from oil. I'm not sure about it.
What is the tax situation in your country?

daliaj! At the same time, is there not a lot of difference in the amount you earn there? In our country, there are a lot of ways to evade tax because of the cheap politicians. If an Iron hand comes into power and make possible ways of collecting the right tax from all ends, our country will also have more basic needs.

I agree with you. The country has a lot of needs and thereby they need money to improve the roads and put money in the economy in order to develop the economy and the life of the people. But, if you see from people's perspective, they want the taxes to be reduce. Yes, you are right, there is a lot of difference in the amount earn here.
