My friend constantly confuses Chinese with Japanese, etc. I asked her why and she said it's because she thinks all Asians look the same. I don't think they do. Do all Asians look the same to you?

Those people just are not around a lot of Asians and are not well informed. And it isn't just Asians that this has been said about either.

I'm Asian and I don't think they all look like, it's just a stereotype that they make.

I think if you're not exposed to Asians, you'll have a hard time identifying who's who. Before I couldn't see the difference between Koreans and Japanese/Chinese. Now, I can identify them because I watch korean drama series.

I am an Asian. Well, I think there are some people in Asian which we can't realize where is he from if we don't ask him. There are some country where you can't make a mistake about that: Vietnamese, ThaiLand, Laos, China, Japanese, Korea. All of these nations people has black hair, yellow skin and pretty handsome.

They don't all look alike to me. If I saw two Asians that didn't actually share a resemblance, I'd be able to tell them apart. Now, being able to tell which country in Asia they came from just by looking at them? That I couldn't do. I can't look at an Asian and tell if they're Chinese or Japanese or whatever unless they told me.

I think it depends on how much time you spend with a particular race. I've had Asian people tell me that all white people look the same. And the same can be true for any race. I, unfortunately, had the same problem at one point with anyone hispanic, but now the concept seems ridiculous to me because I can tell them apart easily.
