To not have love is to to have no feeling. It would be an empty and cold void that takes over. We can choose many emotions that make us think of the opposite of love. When love is not in your heart, you know it.

i guess that the opposite of love is despise. if you despise that person is bcs doesnt really like him. seems that that person is useless to the world or something. i agree that indifference isnt good but at least doesnt bother you while despise bothers. despise is worse than hate. seems like that person is nothing in the world. like why has to exist? more or less this feeling right? so i guess despise is worse. but sure indifference is worse than hate^^ i agree with that.

I agree with you on this one. To hate someone you had to of had strong feelings for them in the first place. It's deeper than being indifferent and closer to loving them. There is a fine line between love and hate. And indifference may be a good comparison for an opposite. Thanks for making me think.

I totally agree with you. For me, the opposite of love is indifference. As they say, there is a very thin line separating love and hate. But when you are indifferent, that means you do not feel anything about that person or thing. It's like it doesn't even exist. You wouldn't care if it is not there or if it's near you because you think nothing of it.

I do not know that I can really feel indifferent about a person who I have actually met and have had a relationship with. I am indifferent about most politicians as people, and about what most celebrities do, but for real people that I meet on the street, it is hard to be indifferent.
