Do you like experimenting on you foods you cook? Just putting any ingredients you find in the kitchen. I like cooking that way, most of the time it will taste good! But ofcourse not all the time. Last night I fried some vienna sausages and put a tuna salad on top. And then tossed some onion leeks into it with a dash of pepper. Yummy! How about you? Do you do experiment too? And what was the last experiment you did?

I have been doing this a lot lately! Good thing I only cook for me! lol! I try all sorts of stuff when I am cooking. I am working on my own little mix for mexican spices but it's not just perfect yet!

That's why it is called experimental. We don't always have nice results! Sometimes I can't even eat what I make! But that rarely happens. Only when I don't even know what the ingredients I put even taste like!

Yeah really! I made some soup not long ago that was just nasty! I tried to eat a bowl and even put the rest in the fridge thinking I would try to eat it and not waste it but it was just too nasty to eat again. I never could get myself to pull it out and warm it up!

I like to watch Food Network for this reason and though some of the hosts are serious characters, it has helped me a time or two.
I just rediscovered making tuna salad with smoked tuna and it was good. I'm getting some wild ideas for Thanksgiving and will probably make half them a reality.
Someone mentioned when money gets low. I'm in L.A. where we have a high Latino population. The food is tasty and inexpensive though some of the more authentic dishes use seafood($). If you knew how handy tortilla are to have, you would wonder how you got by without them. My play aunt makes Tuna Quesadillas often.

Latin spices that are not hot or extreme like epazote or dried cilantro are good to add in soups, casseroles. From there, you can get a feel of its essence and work from there. Penzeys has a good selection of fresh, imported spices with pretty good descriptions.

I love mexican foods. But I don't have patience t learn how to cook it. So I have never tried eating anything else aside from ordinary foods like beef burritos. But it would be nice if I can taste one of those Tuna Quesidillas!

Hi friend,
I´m always making up new dishes or altering all recipes because I never follow a recipe anymore.
Just last Wednesday, I had my dearest friends for diner and I decided on a seafood risotto as my friend (she) is a vegetarian. I also invited my eldest daughter and she came in the morning to have lunch with me and took me to the farmer´s market that also has a place where they sell fish and seafood. I bought some fresh shrimp and mussels and added that to the usual seafood big can I use. I also used some small garlic stems and fresh parsil from my garden. It was incredible.
Leek are something that add a zest to many things too. I love to add some leek to the cream of spinash I make.YUMMY!!!

Sounds really delicious! If only I can have a garden like you do, then I would have more things to experiment on!
The only herb I have is garlic planted on a pot. But it is pretty handy, I use its leaves almost everyday!

I don't usually throw things together that I have in the kitchen, but I do love cooking and trying new recipes. Often I'll change things within a recipe I find but I like starting with that base.
Take today, for instance... I have a coconut chicken curry in the slow cooker and hadn't realized that I was out of curry so it's going to be UNcurried Coconut Chicken. hehe

I don't really experiment with foods because i am just rubbish at cooking!!!! I want to be good at cooking but it i s just so hard, i am old now and i cannot even cook a proper meal that tastes nice. I usually buy junk foods even though i know it is not good for me but still, it is better than to eat my own rubbish food, haha.
Your cooking sounds nice, you must be reallly good at cooking.

I do a lot of experiments on cooking. When I really have time to do it, I always think on what can I do to make the spaghetti more creamier. I ended up without any ingredients left for lunch that day because of my experiments. Is saw this pumpkin and decided to make a sauce out of it. So there, I boiled and mushed it until it's creamy and ready do add more ingredients for my pasta. It's more delicious if we add sesame oil and more herbs.

I started experimenting after I developed a wide range of food allergies. It was very difficult to find any recipes that were safe for me; so, I starteed experimenting by substituting unsafe ingrediants for safe ones. Now, I will see a new recipe and will use the new product or technique to create my own dishes with ingrediants that are safe for me.

I do like to experiment on food as i enjoy trying out different meal ideas, but they don't all turn out ok... some go drastically wrong and taste horrible, but some are nice so i keep those ideas incase i want it in the future.

I am really a madman in experimenting on cooking our food. I have the passion in cooking and it makes my imagination go wild. I am an architect apprentice but I think I have a heart of a chef but anyway, i still have to focus in architecture rather than cooking

Maybe you can make a house that looks like food? Like a ginger bread house?

I do. We usually has many leave over food in fridge and no one to eat it anymore because they feel bored about it. We never eat the same menu more than twice, its often just once.
We usually had fried chicken leave and its usually modify into spicy chicken ketchup or chicken in green chili or others ingredient with endless possibilities.
As long I had onion, hot chili, tomato, salt and pepper I am ready to experimenting with what i had.

Oh I certainly do, and frequently.
When it's the time of the month when money is getting low and the store cupboards are getting even lower I often make up meals from what I can find in the fridge and freezer.
Last week I bought some 'bacon pieces' the bits of bacon that you don't know what size and shape they will be. There were two small but very thick pieces in it - last night I put these in the slow cooker with dried peas and I am making a pig pan of pea and ham soup - smells delicious!!

It is during times like that, when resources are scarce, that we discover we can make something good out of what we've got! Same thing with me! Just find whats there and try my best to make it good.

Ilike combining canned goods with egg like tuna and corned beef. It is really nice and palatable. BTW are you still giving free loadxtreme kits? can you give me some?
