It's been 8 years since I have studied progression. Still I will try.
a = First term
n= number of term
d= common difference
nth Term of the series= a + (n-1)*d
Suppose, 1 is the first term and common difference is also 1 and there are total 31 terms. Then it will be days of a month.
Term 1 = 1 + (1-1)*1 = 1
Term 2 = 1 + (2-1)*1 = 2
Term 3 = 1 + (3-1)*1 = 3
.
.
.
.
Term 31 = 1 + (31-1)*1 = 31
I hope this will help. Happy myLotting!!!

There is geometrical and arithmetic progression-i think arithmetic progression is 1,2,3,4,5......while geometrical progression is 2,4, 6, ....I stand to be corrected because it is a long time since I put my hands on maths
