This year will be my son's first christmas. He will be 10 months at christmas, and we're struggling alittle for gift ideas. Can anyone on here recommend gift ideas for him? We have got a few bits he can grow into or will grow with him. I've got a few little bits for his stockings, and some clothes also. But when people have been asking what he wants, we have been struggling.
Can anyone help at all???

Its my daughter's first Christmas, too! She'll be 3 months by December. I have a gift in mind that your son can use until he's 6 or 7. And you'll be thankful you bought it when he starts school.
Have you heard of the Your Baby Can Read program? If not, check this link and see it for yourself.

Watch the video testimonials at the bottom of the page.
I'm sure it'll be helpful for your baby. Actually, I want one for my daughter, too.

Learning toys are the best thing to buy at this age. His level of curiousity about the world around him will be growing by leaps and bounds in the months to come and toys that will keep him interested and learning will be a great asset to him and to you, as they will keep him happy and busy! I would not go overboard because he is way too young to know the difference, but I would make the things you do get be things that will help him to develop. The first Christmas is such an exciting time! Enjoy!

Nice to see you back Vicky :)
I'd be useless at giving ideas for gifts, it took me awhile with Kate the other week just to find him a decent present. If you run out of things, try the next step up and ask for clothes in older sizes and toys that he will grow into and like playing with. I'm sure he'd love Ben 10 stuff *wink* *wink*
Happy Mylotting!

One toy that I can assure you that he will really like is one of the Busy Ball Poppers. Both of my children had one of those when they were really little like that and they had hours of fun with it. Other things that are fun for children at that age are ride on toys or things that make noise. As far as what he wants, it is hard to determine at that age because a child isn't able to tell you what they want when they are so young.

we i have a 5 month old and people have been asking me the same thing. i have been telling them that i would prefer them to get age appropriate gifts because age appropriate gifts help them learn as they grow and not only that they cant put the peices in there mouth and choke.. also one of the gifts i asked for from someone was to give the gift of a photos to be dont a place like olan mills or the people place.. cause when there so young you want to get pictures done but right now money is tight and i know we all cant afford it..

i agree that the gift of photographs and photo grifts etc would be a great idea. part of my present will be to help to pay off some photos we had done

I would say get him clothes. My daughter will be a bit older than 10 months at Christmas and I already told people that we don't want a lot of toys and such. She has about 10 toys now that are "grow into toys" and her birthday is in February. She will just be happy opening a few small items. Doesn't matter to her whats inside.

At ten months you are buying him presents for your own pleasure - and why not! haha
He would be just as happy with a bit of firewood to chew on.
How about a bottle (or case) of vintage port to lay down for his 21st party? Now that will be of great value to him in 20 years time.
Congratulations on your lovely boy and give him a hug from Uncle Smacksman!

At 10 months, does he care anything about having presents? Probably anything that helps him develop his motor skills or thinking process will do. Maybe what your friends and family should get for him are things that will help you. You know what you need in relationship to your son. Ask for those things.

At this age your son dosent know what is going on so I suggest buying him clothes or any leap frog or learning toys.I think that anything that will help him learn would be a great present but since he is only 10 months I would not go all out as far as getting him alot of gifts.Christmas for him will be alot more exciting in a year or so.I hope this helped and I hope your son has a great Christmas!
