do you think home schooling teens is sheltering them too much form the real world, or does it truely keep them away from the horrors like drugs and bullying? Could home schooling not prepare them for the world out of the shelter of their own family? and the education comes into play.
Thank you and good night xoxox

I totally agree with you, kids can either get seriously messed up, or incredibly successful. i think at like 90% of a kids behaviour is reflected off his parents or older peers.
thanks for your helpful input.

Maybe also the environment has something to do with it too. Do you think if there was a child raised in a bad neighborhood and in poverty they will be able to hold their ground if they have loving and supporting parents? I think they can so, it's probably like 75% Parents, 15 % environment and 10% others

It's still noon in my country...
I reject any concept of homeschooling. It is hot thread in my country.
I see, no benefit in have our kids homeschooled. I just don't wanna my -prospective- children become geek, anti-social, or coward. I wanna say him/her: Stand up, stare around, and challenge the world! I won't stay on your side forever, it's you who have to fight the world by yourself. Be strong, forget anything about home, mama, or brushing teeth before sleeping! Get out of home and find yourself and your way there! That's me, lol!

I think that home schooling a child from 3 years old until 11 years old is fine. Then I think that the time comes for the child to attend a secondary school. I imagine that might be quite a shock for him or her. A child of 13 years old being home schooled would miss out on the social interaction that is available at a secondary school. The education is like a building and the knowledge gets to a very high level.
I am a primary school teacher. I am able to teach children from 3 to 11 years old. I have to know each National Curriculum subject in detail. I teach all the different subjects to the children in my class. At Secondary school the the knowledge is a lot higher in its difficulty. I wouldn't be able to teach secondary level Maths or Science. I don't think a teenager would be ready for the real world after ending home schooling at 16 years of age.
