Just talk to him, explain him how you feel. At the beginning You can tell him that You need Your space for a month or two and then You will see if You really want to live alone or not.

Unless you both want to break up, there is no way of doing it without hurt feelings. Relationships are about feelings, so how can you announce you're done with this one without causing pain? In living together, if both your names are on the legal papers, then he only has to move out if he wants to. If your name is the only one on the papers, then he's just a guest and can't stay if he's not welcome. But there's a deeper thing going on here. You are living with this guy and don't even know him. You apparently aren't even close enough to talk, since you would rather turn to us here at MyLot than actually discuss your feelings with him. You might be able to save this relationship, if you were willing to just talk things over together.
