Hi lean_rose. I do strongly agree with you. You will have full body workout by swimming. Even my Muslim friend also said that Prophet Muhammad asks his followers to teach their children riding horse, arher and swimming. I do not know how to swim. But it is not late for me to take swimming lesson. Happy mylotting.

I love swimming.it doesn't look like exercise to me.swimming is fun.you have a workout that is refreshing because you are in the water.you use you whole body to keep yourself afloat in the water.I would love to have my own pool at my house.

i think it does because it isnt hard on your knees like many exercises are plus you can tone your whole body with swimming.

Yup, you are right. That is why I love more swimming than any other exercise. :D You will enjoy while doing it and at the same time you are working out your body to burn bad fats. lol

I disagree that it is the most effective way, but it certainly is a way to get physically fit. Swimming will train muscles that other activities, like running or hikig, don't. But the problem with swimming is that it doesn't increase bone density- instead of swimming is your primary source of exercise, you could lose some! That's why swimming is not really a form of cardio. If you're going to include swimming in your exercise regimen (which you should), you should swim about 30 minutes a day AND do cardio thirty minutes a day. Also, weight training every other day is most beneficial.

My mom says yes and I think so too. I do swimming to strengthen my lungs. I just know freestyle swimming and I wanted to learn more like floating. I think I knew how to float when I was a kid and now I must have forgetten it then. But I really like swimming as an exercise. =)

I wish I had time to go swim at the YMCAs indoor pool. It would give me good exercise like you say. Swimming is great for our body. I dont know if its the most effective form of exercise to stay physically fit but I'm sure its a great form of fitness. The ymca has a program for low income families so they can go swimming for very low cost. When my ex lived with us all I had to pay was $5 a month for my family to swim there. That was a great deal but I really never would have had time to go anyway.

Swimming - Enjoyable and relaxing
Swimming is a good physical exercise for those who are asthmatic. It has been proven to heal people with asthma if done on a regular basis. To those who have asthma it is also a good way to exercise. It does not just shed some pounds but it is also enjoyable. I think swimming is a skill every one should learn.

Definitely swimming will makes us more physically fit. Any kind of exercise is a necessity for us . I used to swim a lot when I was still in college. I love swimming so much. My only complain is it makes my hips so big and i tend to have muscles in my legs. But still i want to do some swimming one of these days .Never have done it regularly. What a frustration. (^_^)

I took swimming lesson before. But now I can't just swim and unfortunately it is not so accessible with our place so I have no choice on where to swim everyday. How I wish I would have my own swimming pool the one that is for sports. Because you know others want to have dream swimming pool that is actually with different shapes.

Swimming is the best exercise for your body. I think you might have heard this sentence already, and it is totally true. Maximum nos. of muscles are used in swimming. It is a exercise for your whole body. At the same time you enjoy the adventure of swimming and you are keeping your body fit. I love swimming very much but unfortunately :( I have no swimming pool of my own. I have to go to river to swim. I don't take much risk with my life so I swim only in the areas where I know that it is safe.

yes, i agree with you ms lean_rose. i took a swimming lessons before, i can crossed the pool, but i may say, that i am not still a good swimmer. as long as i have the guts to swim a don't care if i do not know how to swim other style aside from the basic stroke.....i would say, i really enjoyed it. i enjoy swimming as a form of exercise aside from running, and dancing, than going to a gym, trying to lift heavy weights and others that's so tiring. unlike swimming, i might get tired but it all worth it because all your body parts are moving.
