Would shooting a short clip and post in youtube help promote the business?

What is your experience; and did you done it before? I just wondering if you have a business, would shooting a short clip and post it in youtube might help attract the attention, and spread out the words? You know, most of us won't have much money to do actual advertising in radio, or newspaper classified ads, even billboard. Youtube might be the best place to start with to spread out the words. Does anyone of you have experience with marketing on youtube or other places for free? Please advice.

I actually think it's a great idea. Just make it smart. Don't just go and say we're a business , buy our stuff. Try to be creative with it. Maybe shoot a creative video showing what your company does , but make sure it's entertaining.
