I've haven't traveled abroad. One of the countries that they say is a good place is Australia. Has anyone been there? What can you say about the place and their people? How was your stay there?

I visited Australia for the first time when I was 20 to 21 years old. I arrived in the beautiful city of Sydney. I loved seeing the white sails of the opera house and the gray harbor bridge. I enjoyed going to see the beaches north and south of the harbor. In South Australia I loved going to Kangaroo Island where I saw lots of wildlife like seals, penguins and kangaroos. I very much enjoyed riding on the trams in Melbourne. It was wonderful to travel up the coast from Brisbane to Cairns stopping off at some of the islands of the Great Barrier Reef. Then I went to laid back Darwin where it was the wet season. It was amazing to see Kakadu National Park with its crocodiles and aboriginal caves. I went to Australia again when I was 28 years old. That time I spent the whole of my trip in Western Australia, traveling south of Perth and then north from Perth. It was lovely to visit Albany, the Pinnacles, Monkey Bay, the School of the Air and Coral Bay. I found the Australian people friendly, very honest and interesting to chat to. I married an Australian man but six years later we got divorced. Australia is an excellent country to travel to and every traveler that goes there seems to enjoy it very much indeed. I would love to go back there a third time with my disabled toddler son and baby daughter.

I have never been there but I have Australian friends. They are pretty laid back, are always up for an adventure and fun. But these are just my friends, I can not generalize the entire nation.

Because it is Australia, it is a great destination! Go for the full tour, the Outback, then Sydney. Book enough time there to spend a week in each place. Have you ever seen a Roo? Come on. If you can, go.
