Is it truly worth the time and effort doing online surveys, does it really pay?

I think it depends on the survey sites you join, where you're based and also on your profile. If you join a handful of good survey sites, then in my opinion it's worth the time.

I think it is worth the time and effort and if you put enough time and effort in doing the surveys it does pay. Some are so long and boring but I like them because they do pay and you have to commit to it. So I really don't mind taking them. Have a good day!

Yes! There is no doubt surveys are worth the time and effort! The thing is you need to find a site that pays even if you don't qualify for a survey like clearvoicesurveys. I make around $500/month off surveys.

I spent a good 10 hours total time to fill out surveys, even more hours filling in half of a survey, only to find out I didn't qualify, to get a measly 5 dollars. That was when I was new at the whole online money making thing. You will make money, but not enough to make it worth it. Why take a survey that takes an hour to do, to only get 50 cents to one dollar, when you could take that time on a writing site and earn way, way more?
Now I write an article in less than half an hour that earns me way more. Freelance writing beats survey taking, a lot! Made over 300 dollars so far freelance writing, much better than that 5 bucks :S
