Yes, you are absolutely right Sachin is not playing as good as he was before. He is playing much better than before. He is averaging over 90 over the last year. Ricky Ponting never in his career has averaged that over a year!! Sachin himself has averaged it only this year.
I think you should tell in more detail why you think Ricky's statement is right!!
Cheers!

I think, first we should decide if you are an Australian supporter living in India or an Indian supporter. What is that captain's record here? He has not even guided his team to a single series win all these years and also failed quite miserably in the two Test matches. On the other hand, Sachin is scoring runs after runs.
Let me change a topic a bit. Probaly some are sleeping out there and need a to awaken to the fact that Sachin has never made such statements against anyone. Sachin is a true player. There are so many batsmen like Jayasuriya in Sri Lanka and all the world over who are not performing well or have failed in a string of matches. Has Sachin ever commented about anyone?
Why does this man - Ponting need to speak? Ashes is nearing fast...... concentrate on that instead of saying that it would be touch for the England team.

I am absolutely disagree with you and Ricky Ponting. Sachin is batting as good as he used to do some 10 years ago. Maybe the aura, the aggression is missing from his batting. But this is natural as batsmen become experience their batting changes. As per Sachin it is very prominent, coz he has been bearing the expectation of this team and more than a billion people. He is batting more responsibly nowadays. That's it. Rather I would say he is batting better than before.
