Hi friends,
Today is my bad day.. I repeated the mistake second time.. Today when I was preparing my breakfast(dosa) I got a call from my best friend who is settled in a village far away.. she called me after few months so I was excited to speak with her and I kept the stove in sim.. took the dosa in a plate while talking and I came out and sat having my breakfast.. after that I got ready for office and locked doors and left home.. still the stove was in sim and pan over it and I totally forgot it.. after 2 hours my hubby returned home to take few of his things he saw it and switched off.. he called me and scolded for my ignorance.. so much fuel wasted and non stick pan also gone..
some 2 years back I done same thing but that time milk was on the stove and it got full black and gone..
so have you ever done such mistakes? Please share..

Hi dear,
This is a common practice for many people. Within 1 year, it happened to me also 2 times. In stead of pan, it was boiling kettle. My sister kept about 3 litters of water to boil and gone out asking me to switch off the stove once the water got boiled. But I was watching the movie on TV in the bed room and I completely forget about it. I think nearly an hour later when I come out of the room for something, I saw a red coloured kettle steel kettle on the stove and I got scared. Slowly I switched off the stove.
In fact, it is a very dangerous situation. You are worried of the pan and fuel waste. But, it will attract major dangerous situations if it happens any explosion or anything like. I think we all should be care full of such things. Whenever we go out of the house, especially we are going out as the last person to vacate the home, please make sure that water taps are kept closed, stove and regulator is kept locked and switch off all the light, fan etc.
Regards,
Thank-s

Hi dear,
Yes, this is the only one solution that we can do, that take care of things. Also, 2 months back similar situation happened with us. Forget to close the tap of the water tank fitted in the bath room. As the tank inside was empty and didn’t notice. We have 24 hrs. water supply except on Tuesdays. Unfortunately, it happened and water come out by overflow and a total mess around. We took back the spare key that was given with the neighbor for some urgent reason and didn’t given back with them. So you can imagine the situation and it got flooded all over the room and …….
We can agree that such things happens. But among the busy times also, we should taken care of certain routine things which may fatal at times due to our ignorance. Thanks for your comments.
Thank-s

I am really careful now. Back then i had a chip pan, i came home from a nightclub and was very drunk and very hungry. I decided to make myself some chips but while i was waiting for them to cook i fell asleep and the oil burned over and so started a fire. Luckily my mum was in the house and the fire brigade came to put the fire out. Now i don't drink as much and i have a deep fat fryer that switches itself off when it is getting too hot, so now i think of safety first. Hopefully there will never be anymore mistakes like those i have done before, but as i am a dad and have a 2 year old son im far more safety concious now anyway with having my son in my home.

Dear friend,
I had seen final of these kinds of after effects, when my father quarrels with my mother. It usually starts from mistakes like this, but once my father did same mistake with egg Omlete and also the the cloth was burnt, my mother congratulated for that mistake. Never again I had seen my father scolding my mother for these mistakes.

Aww. I know it was an accident I hope your husband wasent to mad at you. That is scary though because it could have caused a fire. Its good that he came home when he did! Be thankful that all that was ruined was the food and the pan and not your whole home. Accidents happen. I tend to cook things and forget about them and they burn but lol I've never left the house with a pan cooking and forgotten about it. I tend to just come in the computer room while somethings baking and forget to go check it for awhile then when I go out to the kitchen the food isnt any good.

My husband was an expert in burning food. He would keep food on the gas and completely forget about it and the food would be burning for hours. I have had to get rid of a lot of vessels because they were burnt beyond use. In fact once a year I would call the scrap dealer to take away my burnt vessels! Dont worry tell your hubby that you are not the only one burning vessels!

Be careful with that sweety, you might end up burning your own place. That happened to us but it was my hubby's auntie who left the stove on for hours when she thought that she turned the stove off, but it was on a slow flame.
I guess she left it for an hour or so in slow flame and the cauldron was also dried and flaky under. But we are not angry, we just all laugh at the incident that nothing serious happened. She gave us money before she went back home, she said its better to keep the money aside if our tank ran out short.
What I always burn to cook because of my online work is the chana dal. I can only remember that I was cooking it when I smell burnt food, hehehe!

I haven't done that because for me safety comes first. I don't want my family to suffer because of an accident. It's really dangerous and the house could burn. You're very fortunate to have your home safe and sound. Please if next time you tend to do the same mistake, make sure there is someone who can double check it for you when you're out of the house.

I'm very careful about anything regarding the stove. But yes, milk has boiled over when I've been around. But the thing that I've always always done is forget about sterilizing the milk bottles. For each of my sons it has happened to the extent that the bottles cannot be used again. And this has happened when I am at home!!!
I keep a couple of bottles to sterilize at the same time and usually do it at night. Since it would take some time for the bottle to boil, I will go off to do some other work or watch TV and forget all about it till I wake up in the middle of the night.
For my older son, all the bottles were burnt and we had to go and get a new one in the morning. The vessel I used also became useless.
For my younger one, it happened when I was at my mom's place and I went off to watch a movie on tv and then went off to bed. I just about managed to get one bottle that time. After we returned home, it never happened because we have an open kitchen now and someone would have noticed the vessel on the stove.

yes it happens with me too
i too turned the milk into carbon sometimes....one day i kept some water to boil in a bowl which has copper plating at the bottom...it gets heated very soon....i kept the water on the gas stove and started cleaning wheat...as i wanted to get it grinded to flour...and i totally forgot about the water i had kept to soak chhole in it...the bowl was empty when i noticed...and was turned red....the copper plating also changed its color and is still not back to its original color

Hi chaitra001. A few times that has happened to me when I was not paying any attention. I am usually caught up in doing something else. Or I may be on the telephone or something like that. I don't like when this may happen because, my pot will be scorched or burned up.

Well once my folks had not prepared any food so i wanted to experiment myself.I set the stove on, kept the vessel and poured oil into after that i took out the ingredients needed to make the food, but i couldn't find some so i went on searching and upon entering the kitchen i saw huge amounts of smoke billowing from the vesel and all of a sudden it caught fire.the oil caught fire, i ran out got some sand and extinguished the flames.
Man what a disaster.
