While I was doing my facial routine, I noticed there's a small lump on my neck while I was facing the mirror. I checked the other side and there's none. I touched the lump and it's movable. Yikes! I think it's a cyst. I don't know what to do. I'm scared to tell my parents. I don't know who to consult too. What doctor? It's definitely not a dermatologist. I think it grew below the subcutaneous layer of the skin. HELP!

Hey! That could be dangerous. You better go and let some specialist check on you before that could even go worst. It's better to prevent than to think it's nothing because it might be something. You can simply go to the hospital and ask the receptionist who's the specialist on cyst problems. I'm thinking that an internal medicine specialist is good for that.

Oh yeah. I have a distant relative that is an internal medicine specialist. I'll consult after New Year though. Cyst is not that dangerous. It's benign and the malignant one is cancerous. I'm really sure it's a cyst. (hopefully)

Hi! Nothing to worry. I have the same problem a few years back. Don't wait for it to get any bigger go and consult a surgeon. Don't worry it's an out patient procedure. You will be injected with an anesthesia so you won't feel the pain when the surgeon takes off the cyst. After 5 days or so it will be healed.

I'm scared that there will be a scar on my neck. Why does it have to be my neck. Why not my palm. I'm scared that my vessels will be affected.

Do go to a good doctor, but do not get scared. There are lots of reasons to have a lump. Check first with a general doctor and if you can, go to an hematologist afterwards. I Has a lump on my eck years ago and had all sorts of ugly thought. After a couple of weeks it went away. The doctor said it probablt had been a virus. Meawhile, the doctor, to delete posibilities, sent me for an exam of that illness you can get with cat hair. Before they had the results, the lump disappeared.
