My close friend recently knew how to cross the street alone- she's 16. I learned to cross the street alone when I was in 5th or 6th grade. It's kind of late too..because I was always crossing the street with my mom who was a bit protective of me since we had an accident when I was in 2nd grade.
It was a bit scary at first, with all the cars and trucks..but it that experience was a bit nice too..becoming independent and stuff..What about you?

The first time I crossed the street alone was when I was in grade 1. My mother never allowed me to cross the street alone when I was still young but I secretly crossed the street every time I needed to go to the store to buy toys and food. I knew at that time that I still didn't know how to safely cross the street but I just got lucky that there was no accident that happened to me.

Yeah, even until now we should be careful to cross the streets, and even as we grow older, the streets we cross seem to wider and more dangerous, literally. When i got to college i was scared to cross at first since the road was wide and the jeeps were huge.

I started crossing streets alone when i was about 7 years. i had to cross the street to get to school and didnt like it when my mother tried to help me cross the street. We used to laugh to kids being helped to cross the street by their parents at that age, so i had to do it alone not to be laughed at!

I learned to cross the street alone when I was 7 years old .
When I went to primary school,I needed to cross the street everyday without vacation.
The main street is across between my house and school.

When I was at 3rd grade on elementary school I can learn to cross the street by myself because my family just move and my home is in front of the main street but the traffic is less

When we , I and my brother, were in 1st grade, we used to go school with friends. So I experience crossing the road with friends until I got to go alone sometimes if I'm going home late because of school extra curricular activities.

I learned how to cross the street by myself when I was about 13 years old. Before that, my mother was always protective and holding my hand. She would repeatedly tell me 'always look to your left, pause, then look to your right'. It was scary at first, and sometimes to this day, I still get wary sometimes especially when it's a very busy street. I always keep in my mind what my mom said whenever I cross the street.

I was born and brought up in a clam and a beautiful village. I was going to school alone and i had to cross the road to reach in school. I learned to cross the road when i was in 1st grade. Because there were very few number of vehicles on the road. No parents in my village were worrying for sending their children to school alone, because all of them knew that their children should be safe in that area.

I grew up near a main thoroughfare, so I learned how to cross the street pretty easily. LOL I guess I was in the 2nd or 3rd grade when I learned how to cross the street alone. I was the youngest in the family, so they were sort of used to having children cross the road.

My parents were so overly protective! They did that thing where you have to hold hands together and look both sides. And my parents made me look both sides for such a long time! My parents never did actually allow me to cross the street alone, but I kinda had to force them to let me. One day, we went to the park and we were going to cross the street to get home. I rushed ahead and already made it to the crosswalk. My parents were so far behind that I just decided to cross. And there ya go! They decided to let me cross by myself from then on.

Hi there Lady 1993!
I learned how to cross a street alone, a highway actually, when I was eleven years old. I had to since when I was nine, my parents got separated and I had to spend weekdays with my father since I am studying near their house and on weekends, I go to my mother's.

Out of curiosity for the places located east of the highway in our town, I crossed the highway alone. I was around 6 that time and nearly lost my way home if not for the tall building that I've seen which I think is beside the highway. I was excited and anxious combined but eventually I discovered the highway so is my path home. The silence that prevailed did much help since it cushioned me to think a clue on how to get back.

i was living in a peaceful country when i was young. so i needn't to cross the street...because there is no car, no truct, no motor in my country. when i grow up, go to university and now i go to work, i think cross the street is very dangerous.especially, in my country there was a lot of vehicle in the street. if your friend is 16, i think she can cross the street well. everything we must learn to stand here. so, it's always good for us to be independent!
