So I'm trying to join ChaCha.com because I've heard that lots of people have made some steady money off of it. As I was finishing my registering, they asked for my SSN. Is it safe to put your SSN on their site? Can someone explain to me why they need it? I've heard that it is for tax purposes but I don't know. If it is for tax purposes, do they charge you taxes?

Well, I think it's only for US citizens. If you're not a US citizen, that's probably why you haven't heard of it. Basically, people text questions they have to ChaCha and ChaCha gives them answers. But ChaCha hires people to find those answers and send them back. People have reported getting pretty decent cash with ChaCha. Some people even claim getting $10/day! I mean, on myLot you only get like $0.05/day. Maybe only me.

I've been a ChaCha Generalist/ Specialist Guide since May of this year, & have earned nearly $200 (I've answered nearly 2,000 questions). We get paid 10-20 cents per question, depending on the category. It takes me 30 seconds to 3 minutes, usually, to answer a question. I make $2-4 an hour, which is the norm. They also have a lot of contests which give you bonuses for answering so many questions in a time period (ie, answer 75 questions & get a $1 bonus). I only work once in a while. You can easily make $10 in a day. Even $20 isn't that bad. $30 & up would be out of most people's ability. You must fill out a W9 to work for ChaCha as an independent contractor. You are responsible for reporting your earnings & paying income taxes on them. They do not take any of your earnings to do that for you. If you'd like to ask me anything else personally, my email is chachaguidelaizee@gmail.com. I'd really appreciate if you'd use me as a referral too.
