I personally have always believed in a supreme being but i'm human and have still made mistakes in my life - I believe he is a forgiving god - when people say they do not believe it used to upset me, but no i just feel sorry for them - if you don't have something other than yourself to believe in, how do you get through the real tough spots where no one on this earth can help you. when things go downhill like they usually do in life what keeps you from giving up? as long as i believe in god i feel strong enough to get through anything and believe me there's been a lot, and i know there will be more. believing in god gives me strength and courage, and that gives me hope for better things to come. but in all, i've heard people who say they don't believe in god, and call him names when they need help so you have to ask yourself are they really being true to themselves? I would like to her your opinion on this topic! THANKS, God bless you- Jeremy XoXoXo

I personally think anyone not willing to take other peoples' points of views are the ignorant ones. Whether it be of any religion or belief. Eg I have come upon many Christians who are fine with propheting their beliefs upon everyone yet when someone say an atheist is to voice their opinion they are scowled at and disregarded by the Christians. I would not label any religion or belief to be 'ignorant' however some people with these strong beliefs find them selves being ignorant to others just because of the utter dismissal to anyone one elses ideas.

I like your view on this subject, people who have strong beliefs finding them selves incepting of others ideas and values. sometimes people are so focused on their own religion and values, that the cant understand, or mabey dont want to take other ideas into prospective.

I honestly think religion is a crutch for the emotionally weak. For people who can't handle taking responsibility for their own lives and have to believe in a "higher power" to feel better about things that happen to them, both good and bad. I have never believed in any god or religion and I see nothing to be pitied for it. I enjoy my life, I live by my own rules and I do what I want with no shame.

As long as you believe in God and know he has given you strength and courage to overcome the many trials and tribulations life can bring, that's all that really matters. We have all made mistakes in life and we all at times stuggled with our faith, but we also know in our hearts that aomehow ,God will see us through. To tell you the truth, i do not undrstand why people who don't believe in him find it necessary to ridicule and criticize those of us who do.In my opinion, these people are trying thier best to have others see things their way, since they are so unsure of themselves and so lost in their disbelief they resort to the only things they can think of and that is to call believers ignorant. Pay no mind to people like this as you will never get them to see what we know as truth.

Well, I think that saying that is an ignorant statement. People believe in science, don't they? They take full faith in science even though a lot of science is merely theory (for now, anyway). And I have nothing against science. I was a Biology major. I take quite a bit of stock in science and psychology and so on. However, I am also a follower of Christ and take even more stock in Him. People tell me there's no proof of God, but that's because they won't open their eyes to it. I believe that the Bible is the infallible Word of God... however, I believe interpretations of it are very fallible. Just like scientific theories are very fallible too. However, science has done us a lot of good, but God has done even more so. Science may help us in this life, but only God can help us in this life and in the next. I guess I just don't understand why people take so much stock in science yet ignore the concept of God. Can this all be by chance? Can the fact that we are the only (known) planet to have life be chance? Can our existence be random? Maybe some people really can believe this, but I personally could not. I don't believe in God because it makes sense, I believe in Him because everything else doesn't make sense.

I even heard Stepephen Hawking said that science alone can explain eveverything and that there is no God. I think Stephen Hawking's condition happened because of his balsphemous mouth. Although I pity him for what happened. Stephen Hawking still view that he is blessed because his condition did not affect his thinking. So I am a bit confused of his God Beliefs.

ACTUALLY THERE IS NO GOD .It is true . It is superstition .And so many are believing on it because they are taught about gods from their beginnning of their life . Thanks for your post . May your belief help you.

You neither have the right or the knowledge to say " THERE IS NO GOD" and that ones belief is based on "superstition. Why can't some non believers just say they don't believe in God instead of making comments they have no way of proving. What are you actually contributing in your response, especially when the discussion was started by a believer.

I feel the same as you do. If you have hope you have everything and believing gives you something to hold on to. I can't imagine what is must be like to walk through life without that faith and hope...

To each his own and that includes everyone's beliefs. If others claim that they don't believe in god, fine, let them be after all who am I to judge them? As long as they don't harm anybody then their fine with me. On the other hand those who claim to believe in god is also fine with me as long as they don't go blowing innocent victims when they blow themselves up.

Hi jeremy: I don't think we are ignorants because I actually beleive in God. I also respect people who don't beleive in him at all, I think they have their own reasons and it's ok, but I think that if they call me ignorant they are really ignorants. i think that both beleifs are good. No scientist have the power to prove that God doesn't exist. In fact many important and wise man have beleive in God in all the human history. Thanks for starting this discussion. Have a nice day. I don't think that anyone who believes or doesn't believe in god is ignorant. We are all entitled to our own opinions, especially when it comes to religion. I think that religion is a very personal and intimate aspect of life for many people. I don't judge anyone for their religion, and I hope that no one judges me for mine. I'm not completely sure if I believe in a god or not. In the past I have thought that maybe there was some sort of god- but I thought it would be more than one god. Now I'm not completely sure. I would rather research and experience more religions, and from there commit to one based on whether or not I believe it. I know a lot of people who claim to a certain religion, but they don't know anything about any other religion. How can you know for sure that that is what you believe, if that is the ONLY religion that you know anything about? That's just odd to me, but if it works for them...

No, they are not ignorant. People seek comfort when they are in trouble and/or confuse and one way to feel comfort is believing in God, who will later free us from all our sorrows. Then we feel good again because we know that someone is going to help us overcome our endeavors. by the way, do you watch gossip girl? xoxo ;-)

Those people who say 'people who believe in God are ignorant' are ignorant. God is everything. God has special power to do miracles in our life. I will be totally upset, if i miss to pray for a particular day. God is the only way to get the real peace. Evil spirit is always chasing me to catch. If i forget to pray, he will attack me soon. He always force us to do and think mischievous. We should pray to God to save the entire world from evil spirit. God is love. He is my strength. He is always with me because i'm always with Him.

Personally I don't think that there is supreme being that controls our lifes. I count on myself to get through hard times and till now i never have needed any help from God.

You don't need to get affected for those people who said that the believers of God are ignorant, you know your self very well and you know what is right. You are in the right path since you have faith in God, and that's the most important thing. We just have to accept the reality of life which is everyone of us has different perceptions or beliefs in life. Others would say that they don't believe in God,and that is their prerogative. You can't make everyone believe for what you believe in. The best that we can do is to worship God with all our heart and sincerity for the rest of our life.

as they say.." intelligent people talk about ideas... while others talk about other people." Talking about other people's beliefs are so.. childish. Everybody has its own beliefs and we should all respect that. I pity those who say bad things about other people. They are not being productive, thus just having negative vibes with them. For me, Id rather believe on something, than believe on nothing!

What exactly is their reason for saying that believers are ignorant? Do they even know that Western Civilization would not exist without God believing Catholics? Are those God believing Catholics ignorant? Ignorant of what? Are they saying believers are ignorant of "proofs" that God does not exist? Are there even any proofs that God does not exist? Where are those "proofs"?
