I am currently using Nokia 5800 which is run in symbian platform. It does have some errors such as phone "hanging" and have to disconnect the battery to resolve it. I heard that android phones seems to be more stable. Is that true? Anyone who has an android phone and care to give us some comments?

Heya! I'm using an Android phone right now, the Samsung Galaxy S. I've mostly used Symbian phones before that, the latest being the Nokia E71. I did find the Android phone quite a MARVELOUS improvement over Symbian. Although, I would still consider Symbian to be a more stable application. The problem being that Android has way too much to offer, so lots of basic functions have been missed out - intentionally or unintentionally I don't know, things like deleting call logs by time duration, adding custom notification ringtones without having to create folders yourselves, etc. Despite all that, I love Android as an Operating System because of what it has to offer - which is A LOT!

Do you have an idea why symbian is not as good as android?

Yes, it would be good to be able to create our own application. Anyway, i haven't tried to create any mobile application yet even though i am an application developer :D Maybe should try it out someday. Have a nice day!

I think android is better than symbian. It's because android is an open source OS. We can make applications by ourself and use it freely.. I know that symbian OS also has a compiler that allows us to make applications, but it's limited.^^

i am currently using an android phone and i have a Symbian phone -- Nokia 5230.i like android, because it faster and more stable.CPU of it is 600 MHz ,and it is cheaper than 5230. But software of android is less than Symbian's.

Based on what I have heard Symbain is not a great operating system and it's relatively new so we have to wait to see how it fares. I can really say Android is a good operating system because I am using an Android phone and I am loving it. I have not faced any problems with it and infact is providing me a great user experience. I would suggest you to try an Android system.

symbian is ok as mobile os but in my opinionnow is a difficult moment for it because it is good for simple phones but not really for smartphones so more complex devices..personally i don't like android too mcuh as regards functionalities or graphics...and even update are not so functional..i am waiting the new os from nokai that it will soar in next months named meego and based on linux kernel ..it sounds really good and smart!!

I am not sure I even know what Symbian is, nor am I sure I have ever had one. Ihave used Windows Mobile, and not I am using Android, and I really like it. It has a lot of features that I really like, one being the 4" touchscreen, and the 1 gigahertz processor, which I think is really fast for a cell phone. Now, it doesn't have full flash yet, until the system is updated, but once it is, then I will be able to play games online with it, and I am looking forward to that as well. In the mean time I am really enjoying the phone, especially downloading apps from the market. It is amazing how many apps there are, and enought to keep me busy for a long time It came with a 16gig microSD card, along wiht 2 gigs of internal memory. My phone is one of the Galaxy S series of phones. Take care, and have a good day.

Symbiam OS is very good Mobile OS, but you know the fact the no matter how many models Nokia may come up with it, be it a n series, E or C series whatever, they all have same OS, i mean even though there's upgrades in OS but the interface still looks same old........................................ and now that Android has come, thy have taken the world by storm....they are so eye catching, supports millions of apps, the interface is awesome......you have everything you possibly you want...I know Nokia has equally same number of service but Android will give you whole new experience when it comes to Mobile OS. So the bottom line is Android is on the top of everything.
