Having a bad habit that is hard to eliminate is really hard and it is making me crazy. I try to change it but it keeps on coming back. I am a procrastinator. I always tend to reschedule things to do over and over again if I feel like not doing it. For example, I just finished having my dinner, I will tend to tell myself that I will wash the dishes later. Then just put the dishes on the sink in the kitchen area. It is really easy for me to just wash it but then I will just be able to wash it if I already ran out of plates to use. (hahahaha) really a bad habit right? It is like if I am not getting paid to do a job or task then I will just do it if I feel like doing it. This is only just one example. There are lots of things that I am not able to post now.
I tried to change it by doing the things I NEED to do at once to finish it instantly but after a few weeks or months, it keeps on coming back again.
How about you guys, what are the bad habits that you wanted to eliminate and what are the efforts that you do to change it or eliminate it completely.

Hi Dear
I agree with the post earlier than me, it is nothing but laziness and I too have this habit...lolz
I have a very bad habit for some it may be good but for me I think it is my bad habit that I love and trust very much to extreme and if I had some problem with any one, I ll leave him and ll never speak to him, I trust any one who come to me but when this trust is broken then it is very hard for me to trust that person again. I have a circle of friends and I love them very much and off course they love me too, but I know there were certain persons who were my friends in past and now I dont want to see them around me, they did some thing bad with me and now I never spoke to them, as my other friends always suggest me to keep friendship with them as they can be dangerous but I never, I dont know it is bad or good for me but I think it is my bad habit, if I broke with some one, I never come to them but before break I give them time and if they dont understand, I ll just simply take my way...:)

Hello saqi. I don't think it is a bad habit to feel bad if somebody has broken your trust. It is your prerogative whether to be in good terms with that person again. You would not want to be plastic when you treat the person the same way as before if he or she has done something bad at you after they have done it to you. Keep it up. Be happy and be the reason of happiness in other people's life. So to speak.

Well that is what you call life. Sometimes bitter and sometimes sweet. Just let it be and I hope that other person will realize your own worth for his or her life. You do not need to push yourself to liked by other people. Just be yourself and let it be done according to what will happen in the future. Have a great day as well.

Yes, I agree with you that we should not treat the person same way s/he is doing with us but If s/he always try to treat you in the same fashion then what I should do, do I need to just keep quite and listen to her and keep my anger inside me, is this life?
I tried my best to keep it in good condition but what if the other person does not want so, I think it is better to leave every thing to her, what she decide...:)
Have a nice day...:

Congratulations! I am so proud of you because you made it to quit smoking. It is really hard to stop though.
In developing a habit of working out, you should be able to find motivation on it. You should set out your expectations on why you really want to work out. Is it because you wanted to attain a great figure or to keep yourself healthy and fit. These things then start achieving your goals. Thank you for sharing. Have a great week ahead.

One of my worst habits I would have to say is getting frustrated over the way my life really isn't turning out the way I always want it too. I've been trying more and more not to let the stress build up on me, especially the stress from working a crappy restaurant job to be able to barely afford college, and also the frustration of trying to find all the time to be able to be good at my school work, sometimes it all piles up but I feel like I'm getting better at letting go.
The end of the semester is coming up soon and it's looking like I might be able to just scrape enough money together for my next semester. The bright side is that this semester was my first experience ever in college so it will hopefully get easier for me in the future. I know that I am lucky to be able to pay for college by working and not have to take out loans that gain a bunch of interest. If I can just get over the habit of getting worked up about things that are kind of out of my control right now, will be much better for my health and my attitude.

Wow... I would need you to be here to make me laugh at your jokes all the time.. hehehe Just kiddin'. Anyway, it is a nice form of habitual act to joke around but let us try not to touch other people's feelings so we should really be tactful with our jokes. Let us just imagine if we are being joked about like that as well, we would also feel the same way. Thank you for the nice response and have a great weekend.

Hi dear,
Lazy girl!! Yes, I know what is this. Absolute laziness. We need to do, and can do but don't do - then what to call it? I am telling you are lazy, (even I am also do the same way) not the same thing but like you, keep the right work for an another occasion. Good you reminded me, actually I need to arranged and keep some bank papers in my bag for tomorrow's purpose. When I come back from office at 8:30, I though I will take it and keep in the bag, then I though I will do it after my bath and dinner, still not yet done. Please wait a minute, let me keep it, otherwise again I will forget it......., ok, done, also few more things are there I need to complete.
The reason is that we are not serious and not trained with a military training. For some people such things are so particular and they want to do it all in right time and finishes all at the required time. One way it is good, but for you and me like people this is a nature.
I got only one justification that it is our work and we don't want to convince any body. So that it is just ok, what else I can say on it.
Same time, can I ask you one thing, that once you are on the bed to sleep and switched off the lights and about to sleep. Suddenly you remembered of something which you need to do tomorrow. Will you get up and arrange the thing and come back and sleep or will you just think that I will do in the morning and will not get up, just will sleep. What will you do?
Regards,
Thank-s

Hi dear,
Yes, it is that way. Sometimes we have an approach of laziness toward certain things. But the moment we realize that it is to be considered seriously, we change our mood and do it properly. Even though, we are idle, we know how to handle when it is needed. Yes, this kind of realizing is the one what we really needed. Sometimes our absent mindedness may be purposive, but when it is needed, we will take care of the things well. Even this topic is a kind of warning also to me. I ignore certain things at times, and find that it cannot do when it is really needed. Sometimes, such carelessness had given me unwanted streets to me. So, it is always advisable that things to do at times to be done in time and keep it for some time may cause unwanted consequences, due our carelessness and absent mindedness or laziness.
Thank you for your nice comments.
Regards,
Thank-s

Thank you so much for the advise and nice comment. If it should really be done then you should do it at once and not to procrastinate. We should also have to prioritize things so that we would know what to do first and accomplish it at once. Have a great week ahead of you.

I do agree that I am absolutely lazy at times. I know that this procrastinating thing is really bad because I am used to cramming and do things in a hurried manner but accomplish things just before the deadline. But i know it is still bad because we will never have enough time to polish things up if we need to consider room for errors.
As for your question, if ever I am already in bed since I am a procrastinator, I will still get up and do the thing that I should do before I sleep. I will never be able to sleep if something is bothering my mind though.
Thank you for the nice response my dear.

Haha, I'm a procrastinator too. Almost the same as you, but for me, I do not like to fold my blanket every morning and my mother has to nag at me. I always say that, it's not as if we are expecting a guest? If so, I'll fold it but she tells me that it's always good to fold it to become a good habit but I always find it a bore. LOL. Another bad habit is about me scolding the tv when I always see something bad or not to my liking. It's kind of stupid and I really hope to change that soon. I always try to change it but sadly, it also keeps coming back.

Hehehe we are the same being a procrastinator. If we have the strong determination and self discipline we will be able to overcome these things. We should just be citing all the good outcomes of what good it will bring if we stick and adhere to change these bad habits of ours. Thank you for sharing. Have a great week ahead of you.

For the longest time, i have had a bad nail biting habit. It is a habit I would love to be able to break. It is a nervous habit I wish i could conquer. Somehow I seem to go back to it.

That is something psychological. I really cannot comment on that one because my degree is not really in psycho-analyzing people and situations. I hope you can find the root cause of your nervousness and be able to handle yourself to stop the nail biting thing that you have. Thank you for sharing and I wish you good luck to that.

It is a natural response that we do if we hate or do not like the person. We should really not change the way we do with things like these but let us not be rude to the people we dislike. That is not a bad habit but a natural attitude. Thank you for sharing and have a great week ahead.

I had one big success when I got rid of my worst bad habit - I quitted smoking! It was really important for me because I have problems with my lungs. I don't consider other things like the drama with the dishes such a big deal. But I'd like to win another bad habit. I go to bed too late and it's painful to get up in the morning. Now it's 01,30 and this is early for me. I wish I could eliminate this bad habit too.

Everyday i go to bed in between 1 - 2 P.M. Actually i like to go to bed earlier, but i can't. It is because of work load. Everyday i spend 7 - 8 hours in front of computer. Once i sit in front of the system, i forget about my other responsibilities. I know that it is a very bad habit. Everyday my husband scolds me because of this reason. He comes from office very late. So nobody is here to control me. That is the reason why i'm continuing this habit. Time is not sufficient for me. I have no servants. I do all the works alone. Meanwhile i teach my child and help her to do home work and all other activities. Tell me .....is it possible to sleep earlier? If i reduce the time which i spend in front of computer, it is possible. I'm trying..........

I had that kind of habit when long ago before I got my recent job that I had resigned a week ago. I spend 10-12 hours in front of the computer. It just stopped when I had my job already. I guess that is the root cause of it. Being addicted using the computer and the internet. I know you clearly know about your responsibility there as a mother and you really have to fulfill it. Thank you for the honesty and thank you for sharing. Have a great week ahead.

We share the same problem especially on school projects. I don't know but ideas seems to come out when deadline is almost coming. LOL..
Another habit that I want to eliminate is being a pessimist and having lots of fears. I always see holes and tend to be negative in every situation and find a lot of excuses. I know it's one of the hindrances of not achieving my goals.

Being a pessimist is not a bad habit. It is already your attitude toward things. The bad habit that you have is that you enjoy cramming. Just like me. Let us just have self discipline and try to do things at once if we should be able to do it instantly. Put all your fears to God then you will feel good. Thank you for sharing and have a great week without any fear in your heart.

If we want to have a good time management then we should stick and adhere to our plans of changing it. Put some great motivation in yourself why you want to exercise like to lose weight and gain more confidence if you look all toned up. Thank you for sharing. Have a great week ahead.

I always go to the john or bathroom before i leave the house. It is already a habit that even my kids knew it already. Everytime i tell them, "let's go"... they will tell me,." for sure you will to the bathroom first." haha...and they are right. I want to avoid that because even if i don't feel like urinating, i will just go there, sit down and try to urinate. Then that's the only time i will leave the house.

That is not a bad habit. It is just fine to be prepared at all times. It will be difficult for us women to feel like we have to pee in the middle of the road or in the middle of the bus travel. Thank you for sharing. I would just like to say that it is not a bad habit that has to be stopped. Have a wonderful week ahead.

I'm a smoker and i've always said to myself that i'm going to stop but i never did. It's so hard to stop smoking once you're addicted to it. I've even considered hypnosis and other weird stuff but all of them never worked.

You don't need to stop it completely but just minimize the number of sticks you are consuming first then as time goes by make cut the intake of what you are having in half so that you will be able to atleast minimize the intake of it. Thank you for sharing. Have a great weekend.

Well if your body really loves sleeping a lot then you should dedicate a full amount of time to sleep like 10 hours sleeping straight. It is just normal for our body to sleep so do not deprive yourself from it. Thank you for sharing.

Time management is the key to that. Also, you can try using an alarm clock which is key controlled. I mean it will stop ringing if you put the separate key inside the alarm clock. and when you sleep, put that key so far away from you that you would have to stand up and get the key to switch the alarm off. It will still be up to you if you will lie down again and go back to sleep. It will be irresponsible then if you still do. Thank you for this nice response and welcome to MyLot.
