Oh, you are not happy, any Problem?, let's go for lunch/Dinner?

Hi friends,
Subject line of the discussion is not a statement between a couple or friends, it's my manager who has a single idea for every problem our team bring up. yesterday, all team members decided to bring the issues in the team and sort out the differences among the team mebers as well as with the manager and guess what is the solution that came out. Lunch Party from manager that will ultimately come from the company account.
This is not first tim ewhen our manager has proposed Lunch/Dinner party, he does it every time whenever he feel team is not happy. he will not come up with the solutions to the problems raised by team but propose team Lunch/Dinner, he will spend hours to finalize the venue for the event instead of working on problems to get a solution?
We all team members are tired of his team lunch/dinner for every problem we raise. He things that team is hungry and not having proper food at their home so call everyone for party and they will be happy.
many times we followed his suggestion however this time we had already decided to decline his Lunch/Dinner invitation and we did it.
I feel that team meetings out of office are good to maintain a good relation among the team but not a solution for every problem and I do not agree to his idea of Lunch/Dinner.
Do you have/had chance to work with such a great stupid manager who things Lunch/Dinner is the solution for every problem?
Do you agree to his idea ?

Well,I agree with you .
maybe your manager thought good relation means solution for every problem.
Just you saw 'team meeting out of office are good to maintain a good relation.
I think he has no malice.but just used a wrong method .
To communicate with him and tell him the feeling of your team about his method .

His idea works but does not work for all and any problem. If it's first time, agreed but not ebery time you can come up with the same solution of goign out for lunch/dinner. He should analyse the problem and based on that he may wish to go to dance bar, lnch/dinner or somewhere else if things that only these things will solve the issue.

Hi Ajay,
Well, I have not known your manager, but maybe he thought to himself that really it's one of the things that caused some issues and problems in your workplace. It's good to have time for all of you team members to spend time together in lunch or dinner. Maybe through that event the differences and barriers like your prejudices for each other will be shunned.
Well, don't think to bad about your manager mate, first of all he is not a manager for nothing. It is a rare case to have a manager that doesn't know anything about his job, maybe he have some reserved reasons to himself why he keeps on suggesting to you members a lunch/dinner party. We do not have the slightest idea what is it and thus, we don't have the right to criticize it.
But what if his ways are totally wrong? Don't worry, you are not your manager's keeper, if he's wrong on his ways, he'd be responsible for it. You are there as members to follow his orders, and if his ways are not working (as you already thought) then maybe you can talk to him in private, and raise the matter to him. If he doesn't listen to you, still it's not your responsibility.
Bear with your manager as patiently as you can. He is appointed to be your boss. And treat him with utmost and honest respect. Pray for him, prayers do move mountains. God bless you!

I agree to your points however going for lunch/dinner does not work every time, may be once in a while or if there is any good reason to go for that, it's ok.
Another problem is that we have spoken to him many times but he is not open to suggestion as well and tries to implement his ideas only. I beleibe he may not agree to my or the teams idea on something but at least listen the points raised.
It has been 8 month and I am still with him on all his decisions considering that he will change next time but disappointed.
Let's hope that he will change for good.
