what is dvd rip?

what it means when near the movie name stands dvd rip ,what is acctually dvd rip and how can i make dvd rips by myself

DVD rip mean a process of copying DVD content to a hard disk or other media. Normally you need to convert the DVD format to another format such as Divx/xvid in .avi extension. The result of ripping make the movie/media file smaller. 5 or 10 these ripped movies could fit in a DVD. The software that can rip DVD such as from Nero CD burner software and the free Format Factory. There are many software you can choose out there.

Ripping is the process of copying a DVD or audio CD to a computer file. There is a lot of software available which will do this.
