Superman: Earth One

A few weeks ago, DC Comics launched their Earth One line of comics with Superman: Earth One which re-imagines the Origin story of Superman for a new generation of comic book readers. I was just wondering who has read this and what are your thoughts on it? While it has gotten a lot of flack, I absolutely love the darker more realistic take on Superman. Superman to me before this has always seemed like a character that was just too perfect...which he was because in the 1930s when he was created, Society needed a figure to look up to. Now, instead of making him inspire society, the story makes society inspire Superman to be the hero and be the better person which presents an incredibly new and fascinating take on the character. What are your thoughts if you've read the new book?
