My roommate was robbed today.

We were at work today when a guy came up to us and asked us about the eaves troughs at the house we were working at. My boss wound up letting him clean them and said she would bill the client for the work done. So the guy did it, went around the house and cleaned them all out. He claimed that he cleaned the ones on the garage but he hadn't. He asked me for a smoke and I gave him one. Then he asked my roommate for a ride to somewhere close by, but it wound up not being as close as he said. He had dropped $10 for my roommate and as he picked it up, the guy went to leave the car. Before he did though, he turned back and stole everything my roommate had as he was putting the $10 with the rest of the money he had with him. The guy ran, but my roommate was blocked in on his side and couldn't get out to chase after him. The guy ran off with about $90 and my roommate is royally pissed off about this, and I don't blame him. He thought the guy was harassing us when he came up to us asking if he could clean the eaves. I feel that I'm to blame for this, I shouldn't have brought him over to the van to give him a smoke. The guy took advantage of us and pretty much robbed us blind. I really don't like people who are like that, they take advantage of your good nature and then they stab you in the back.

I am sorry to hear that. We should not be trusting to anyone anymore these days. Be vigilant always so we won't be robbed.

You are not at fault. The guy that stole the money is at fault. I hope you filed a police report, because this guy sounds really slick. It sounds like he has done this before quite successfully. Thieves are everywhere.

It's really bad when people rip you off like that. A lot of people have been robbed like that since the economy has ended up the way it is. It's already tough out there as it is. Just look on the bright side. At least no one was seriously hurt or anything. Hopefully you can find a way to get the money back.
