It is of course a bad news because he/she may not be prepared of the termination. But, may I ask, is he/she in probation? Is the termination was done in accordance with the labor laws? I say so because one cannot be terminated simply because of poor performance without being notified or warned for such termination.

Ok, so in other words, it is not a termination. It is an end of her probationary contract. It is a prerogative of the company to terminate a worker before the expiration of the 6th month or the probationary contract due to poor performance or not eligible for regularity. If the worker is terminated without cause, she can file a complaint against the company for illegal termination or dismissal.

Hi dear,
I felt very sorry about the person, but it happens. Especially, these days this is a regular practice from the HR to nominate unproductive people to pack from service without even giving adequate notice to them. I just remember that once one of my friend and school mate down from US and he was telling that the company is decided to terminate about 4-5 people from service and one of them was is immediate friend and working with him for 3 years and more. And he was the person who supposed to officially announce the matter about his friend. (it was at the time of recession in the US and not now).
However, even he was telling that he was on vacation and once he is bank in office, it is not sure that his job position would be there. But now the situation has improved and better or now.
In your companies case, you all could have given a memo to the HR that give him a chance to improve his abilities. Keeping a period of 3 months for improvement and if not happens in the period, they could have terminate. Has he got adequate notice period? Is he is a fresher in the office. All of us are like that only and once we are in service, we will improve gradually.
If I get this termination notice right now, I can try for a new place upon my service experience and overall rating what I have. Still, getting an immediate job also possible, but the compensation may not as much what I am getting now. As I am in need, I may lose my bargain and should have to settle with what I am offered. I believe that such a situation may not come to me, as I am confident on work profile, and I got a rating of 5 out of 5 in the last month survey rating for the revision of payment.
Hope you friend must have informed of it, and if any of you are able to get a new job, please try for him and all of your co-workers support can help him to get a new job.
Regards,
Thank-s

Well...
There is no question about that how we feel when we or some co worker of our get terminated...we must feel bad even he/she is our office enemy too...lol
But the way company thinks also does matter these days as if we are not able to be productive then no company is in mood to carrry you ...in some public sector job it can be possible but not everywhere...
I believe in working and giving what ever I have ability to give to this society or you can say to minkind ...so I have choosed to work in privates firm or company ...otherwise it always better to choose public sector if you feel insecurity from job ...
Thanks...

It really feels sad especially when the one terminated is close to you and you can see no reason why he/she would be fired. It can also make someone feel as if they might be the next one to be kicked out of the company. But I think there is a good reason why the company terminated her. Maybe she has really not been that responsible in her job or she failed to do a duty. Of course, everyone would feel bad if someone close to them would be terminated from work. I think this is one good reason for us who still go our work to do our best on it so that we won't lose our jobs too.
The world of business is still in recession and I think employers would only want the best of their employees to remain. It's really hard to find a job right now so we should all love our jobs and do it the best we can... but sometimes there are people being fired for reasons others don't know and should not know.. I don't know what you'll think about those words. Anyway, just be thankful you still got your job. Hopefully, she will find a new job where she will be able to stay.

Of course you will feel sad, but you cannot do anything with that, its the management decision and I think the management won't do that move if the cause of termination is not valid. However, if you are terminated because of invalid reason then you have the right to disagree and do the necessary action. I suggest that you study properly the company policies before accepting any job so that you will aware the do's and don'ts of your employer.

I will feel sad also because that person also supports a family and looking for a job these days are hard and it will be another tiring experience to apply and hunt for a job.
As long as that person seeks job immediately, because if she remained stagnant, the interviewer will also asked the reasons why and I do hope your colleague will be able to find a new job.

life does go on and we are in hard times at the moment, it has also got to be difficult for them if they are to get rid of someone, it can't be easy for them. I feel sorry for the person, just hope that they can find another job, also this means that the rest of you will have to work hard as you never know what may happen. It isn't always good news when you are all pulled in to have a meeting. Sometimes there is some good news, just hope that there are no more staff that have to be layed off and just hope that that person does get to find a new job, it is a terrible ime so close to christmas.

termination is just a lesson for everyone, because without termination, there is no learning for a mistake.
