Krav Maga = throat punches and groin kicks
Effective and deadly.
Is it an art?
If what every little brother and bullied nerd does
to the big dumb guy out of pure fear is amartial art,
Then ya why not make Krav Maga a martial art too.
Krav Maga is useful for sure
But I wouldn't be proud to know it
and sure wouldn't feel good about spending much time with it.
If you don't wanna get beat up
get a concealed carry permit.
If you want to beat someone up
Train in mixed martial arts.
If you want to learn an art
and develop some inner peace
and be able to defend yourself well into old age
Then pick a traditional martial art.
Wing Chun, Karate, judo, jui jitsu, aikido etc.
I personally am not good with rules and boxed in systems
and opt for using whatever works
Jeet Kune Do or MMA.
If I could learn any art though
I would wish to learn the one not easily available to me now
Sambo.
Fedor Emelienenko the worlds pound for pound greatest mixed martial artist
has a strong background in Sambo.
As much as I'd love training in dozens of other arts
If I had to pick one
I would choose to study Sambo under Fedor's tutelage.

By the way
Sambo is basically a Russian fusion of judo and wrestling
developed in the 1920s by the Soviet's Red Army
from a large mixture of martial arts.
and practiced as a combat sport
to improve unarmed combat skills

krav maga is a really deadly and will surely take down any opponent or enemy you will encounter,it uses both defense and offense at the same time...

The best style is the one that works for you.
Every system has it's advantages and disadvantages. I think the best thing to do is to learn enough to have a solid foundation, then seek out what seems best and most effective and incorporate that into your arsenal. That's the sort of cross-training that Bruce Lee promoted and cultivated into Jeet Kune Do, and ultimately if you apply yourself you'll flesh out a method (or "style" or "system") of fighting that works for you.
Stay safe!

Not being politically correct but I believe that there is no such thing as best martial art. A martial art was created due to needs of a specific group of people during a specific time. Krav Maga was created to fight out Nazis during WW2. For me Arnis or Filpino stick fighting works since it is the most accessible tool for us here in the country. It was also created to kill since it started during battletime.

For me it would be karate. It teaches you discipline and respect to other people. Most karate-do's are strong in mind, body and spirit. Also respect with each other is evident between them. The strong bonds with your fellow karate-do's also makes the martial art a good way to make friends and at the same time overcoming training and hardships together.
