Yes they do exist!! Come to my country, visit the Bran castle and you can even take pictures with them (for a price). They also sell t-shirts, cups and other crap to bring to your family. You can find Dracula there too.
Actually no, they don't exist. But there are still people who believe in them. Lots of superstitious folk around here.

there are no true vampires. in the supernatural sense.
there are some people that drain energy or emotions from others that could be called vampires, and there are people that need to take in blood to maintain their energy levels. without it they feel weak or dizzy. but they are still human.
and there are leeches. fleas. mosquitoes. and three very beautiful species of bat.
but a supernatural being, no.

Hi. swinbox. Welcome to myLot! They say that they exist, but they don't ideally. Their are cults that act as if they are vampires. But they only drink peoples blood that are in their inner circle. To me a real vampire is a vampire that goes around preying and devouring innocent human beings and animals blood. This in my opinion makes them a vampire.

Vampires such are Dracula are just fantasy. People love to read about the supernatural and to see hooror tales and that´s where these vampires came into being. But there are true vampires in nature. They are bats that feed on blood. They, like bats, come out at night and have radars to go about. Read about them at a search engine. It´s awesome but not eerie.

You did not specify what kind of vampires ... so I'll answer that yes, there are vampires, ie beings who feed on blood, by definition. there is a species of bat called really, vampire bats that suck blood from their victims (even human). There are several types of insects that do the same thing-yeah, the mosquitoes would be the most banal of them.
And there are energy vampires, that people around which you feel suddenly limp, without energy, a phenomenon that is called in popular parlance and even the evil eye is real and not just a mere superstition. There are also people who fit this profile vampire itself, that feed on animal or human blood (some groups or civilizations past and present who commit ritual sacrifice and drinking blood).
However, the profile of the vampire myth, which, besides the fact that drink blood, stay out of light and can only be killed with a stake in my heart ... I do not think correspondent finds in reality. Bram Stoker's to blame for the popularity of this myth, he is author of the novel "Dracula. "

Allthough a lot of people here say they don't exist.. They do exist, except there not like the image you have of a vampire. Vampires do exist but are not like in the movies. It's just that some people drink blood and feel great when they have it and think they have a kind of urge to drink it. Allthough as an opposite, those real vampires drink blood once in a while, not everyday or so, they don't need it to live on and of course they are not immortal. There are also a couple of 'real vampires' who feel awfull in daylight and mostly live inside their houses. And of course there are some 'fake' real vampires. People who intend to live like "movie vampires", you could consider them as a vampire because they do axactly the same as the image most people have off a vampire.
But of course: No one can turn into a bat or something, that's a nice fairytale.

Vampires do not exist? Hmm, maybe not in the way portrayed by popular authors, but I believe that there are many more creations which we have never met. Just because we have never seen something it does not mean that they do not exist. There are demons which like the taste of blood.

Though belief in vampires is as old as man itself, but the word vampire became popular only after 18th century. In Greece they know vampires as vrykolakas and as strigoi in Romania. In Europe people had become superstitious to the extent they used to stake corpses and they had accused some people of vampirism.
It was Bram Stoker's who created Dracula in his novel, which he wrote in 1897. The story of Dracula was popular until 21st century.
However, vampires do not exist. They are merely people's figment of imagination.

I don't think they really exist.. but no one really knows. They may be just very good at hiding themselves. But I hear that there are people who have vampire- like characteristics...it's a disease [i forgot the name] They become allergic to sunlight and some even need blood to survive.Maybe that's the root of all the myths. It would be really scary if they were true since they drink blood and are hard to kill.

I think every myth has its roots in truth, despite how absurd they may become.
There are of course the real vampires such as vampire bats, bloodsucking insects, and peculiar human diseases which can induce vampire like symptoms such as an aversion to sunlight, a tendency to bite people and a desire for blood.
of course most of the modern vampire myths are completely fictional but i would encourage you to conduct further research into the matter as it is a very interesting area.
