Within past few days I find it hard to fall asleep early. My mind was preoccupied with many things. I don't want to take sleeping pills because I know in the long run I will become dependent to it. So I want to regain my normal sleeping habit in a natural way. Things that I did to do that are drinking milk before sleeping, avoiding stimulant such as coffee, chocolate and soft drinks. And additional to that I listen to music. I play my ipod and place headset to my ear so that I don't disturbed others because I share room with my sister. I find it very helpful. I enjoy listening to different songs, some re love song, some are rock. I fall asleep unconsciously. And when I find in the morning it was already low bat. How about you do you listen to music while waiting to fall asleep? Do you find it helpful? Why?

Hi Mayrah! I do listen to music, mostly mellow songs to lull me to sleep. I find it hard to sleep as well since I worked on graveyard shift before. But now, what makes me sleep easily is exhaustion, whenever I tuck my 2 daughters to their beds. :-)

I've always had troubles to fell asleep fast that i got used to it. If there is light on i just cover my eyes or else i can't sleep and the same goes with music or any noise i hear. If i hear people talk downstairs or people yelling on the street i can't sleep. This may sound like a negative thing but every time i wake up i'm good to go and have fun with friends ^^

hi mayrah, well i think listening to music before sleep is not for me because instead of falling asleep, it will just make me awake as long as i'm hearing beautiful songs. hehe. i think reading will be a better way for me to feel sleepy and sleep faster.

that is the most missed thing of my doings since i've had a motor accident... I really love to listen to music until i fall asleep... And, it was long stopped a practice because of conservation needs of electricity... But, I am doing my best to once in a while. at least, twice a week of listening to music before i sleep...

i don't usually listen to music or depend on anything to fall asleep cause i'm a good sleeper i guess, lol! yeah i fell asleep listening to slower music a few times though. but normally i don't cause u know the kinda music i mostly listen to - u don't expect to fall asleep listening to them. even if i do, i'm sure i'll be awakened suddenly at some point. for me the fastest way to sleep is get drunk...zzzz!!!

yes,I have the habit of listening music before sleeping. sometime, we need it to relax myself. it is good enjoyment. but i usualy, listen some soft music in late night. you know, rock is too fierce.... you can have some ipod tha can shut down by itself. you just need to set the time limit. in this way, you would not have the low bat in the morning. ans there is no regret of forgeting shuting it off.

Honestly, no I don't really do this. I do know people who do it, but I don't. It's really not something that I like doing or anything. Sometimes, it might help me get sleepy, but I prefer not falling asleep while listening to music.

I usually don't have any problems sleeping unless I take coffee minutes before bedtime. And I'm not bothered at all by any sound, so I sometimes listen to music especially those with "nature" sounds in them. Though most of the time, I just sleep. My work makes me so tired that I can't wait to just flop into bed at night and doze off to Dreamland.

Yeah, I do. Well, it had been apart of my routine. I listen to music as I go to sleep on bedtime. I often listen to slow rock and love songs because it's so relaxing to listen to such kind of songs. Those kind of songs makes me feel asleep. And it really makes me have a good and sound sleep. When I wake up in the morning after that night, I feel like I'm always on the go to do the activities and work I need to accomplish for the day. So, listening to music during bedtime had been so helpful for me.

No, I do not listen to music while waiting to fall asleep. Rather, I just lie down and close my eyes. I get the sleep this way mostly.

I would be hyper active if I used music to fall asleep. I'm guessing music has different effects on people, and for me it would energize. In a song, there are multiple things that raise concern, and thinking about them will only wake me up. As a matter of fact, when I'm driving long distance in the middle of night, I turn on some music so I stay awake. Like you said mayrah, I would avoid stimulants like caffeine and sugar, and try focusing on one thing before I fall asleep. I'm happy that you have started to take interest in regaining your full sleeping patterns. Keep it up, and update us if you find music helpful for sleeping.
