There are advantages and disadvantages in both the spectacles and the contact lenses. Spectacles may not be liked by many people as they feel that wearing spectacles makes them to look like more aged and serious natured person. But these are having its own advantages as these are not as costlier as the contact lenses, it is easy to maintain these when compared with contact lenses and they can be worn and removed now and then as desired. These can be easily stored and no precaution except keeping them in the case is required. The Eyeglasses are available easily almost every where, may it be a small town or a big city. Now coming to the Contact lenses, they are mostly preferred by the young people as no body can make out that the person is using correction lenses for improving the vision. It maintains the beauty of the face. If needed some coloured contact lenses also can be used to give different colour to the eye.But they are expensive, they are not easily every where. They require more attention and care for storing. They can't be removed as reapplied now and then like a spectacles or eyeglasses. They may cause irritation in some people. Some lenses are too thin and soft that one doesn't feel them when worn. So these are the advantages and disadvantages of both the things, now depending on your age, requirement and affordability you can choose one between the two! All the best! Thanks !

I've been using contact lenses for the past 17 years. The soft contacts do not cause any discomfort. You wouldn't even know you are wearing them. But I find it a problem when I need to take them off if I need to lie down and the other things we need to take care of. When I was working, it was fine...but at home, I prefer glasses and use contacts only when I go out.

If you get soft contact lenses then I would say they are better than glasses. If you get hard contacts (gas permeables), they are NOT better than glasses. I have worn soft contacts, hard contacts, and worn glasses. I hated the hard contacts. Now I wear soft contacts, and to give my eyes a break, I also wear glasses a couple of days a week.

hi tess I wear glasses and have wo rn them since I was ten but I refuse to stick something in my eyes. lots of contact users do swear by them 'but my eyes are so sensitive I would probably be one who would get some sort of eye infection.I would ask my eye doctor for advice were I you.

I wear contact lenses because it's a hassle for me to wear glasses. During hot weather, they mist a lot. But, it's also a hassle to wear contact lenses. You have to take them out every night. And, you have to be careful that they are always moist. When they dry, it's painful. It think it is suggested that people with really blurry visions use the contact lens, because it is dizzying when only that part covered by glasses is clear while the other parts are blurry.

i think that the spectacles are better than contact lenses because you do not have to take care of them that often like the contact lens. there are also problems with contact lenses aroused due to dust which is too much due to pollution. but they are a great alternative if you want to look good or are going to a party. so the choice is up to you....according to your requirement.

i used to wear contact lenses since it is more convenient to use, but it is expensive and usually has a limited lifespan to use, as well as it needs constant cleaning so as not to cause irritation. Glasses are more cheaper and if you're good enough of taking care of it, it will be more of longer use.
