Traveling during the holiday season can be fun and a change of pace. Some may want something other than a white Christmas and have some fun in the sun. While others may want Europe. Have you traveled during the holiday season? What's your take?

I have spent two Christmas times abroad and three new year's eves. When I was 20 years old I traveled around the world. On Christmas Day I swam on a tropical beach in Queensland hoping not to come into contact with any stinging box jelly fish. Then on New Year's Eve I was partying in Cairns in North Queensland. Then when I was 29 years old I spent Christmas in New Zealand. I had an amazing experience on Christmas Day. I went on a dolphin watching trip on a boat. Then for New Year's Eve I went on a day time up to the light house at the top of New Zealand. I did some sand boarding and the four wheel drive bus went along the 90 mile beach. At midnight I was at the youth hostel with the other travelers. On New Year's Day I traveled down to Kerri Kerri. When I was 31 years old I was in Turkey for New Year. That was a boring evening in a hotel room. Snow in Austria in January looked amazing so I imagine a white Christmas there would be charming. It is more relaxing to have Christmas Day on on tropical beach. The place I would most want to have New Year's Eve is Sydney with its firework display in the harbor. Flights at Christmas time are way too expensive.
