Hi,
What I should say is not easy to be a single parent,be it single
dad or single mom.
You have to be strong to go through your life being a single parent.
You will be alone to handle your kid and sometimes when you need help,
you have to depend on your family or relatives.
And of course, you have to spend more time with your kid .

I do understand. As a father, making the commitment to your child first is commendable. You learn that the less you depend on others the better off you and your child are. Nothing comes before your child - work, parents, girlfriend, church, friends. When others see your true commitment, the help that you really need will come to you instead of you seeking help.

I think that the most important thing that you should know if you are a single father (or single mother for that matter) is to realize that is not going to be an easy road at all. In addition to that, I think that it is important for your children to have a female that plays an important part in their lives. This person does not have to be a maternal figure, but could be a grandmother, a child care provider, anything. But, it is important to have a female in their lives.
