you want something yet you do not know what

i woke up early today.. earlier than usual. after doing my morning rituals, i didnt have anything else to do. so i decided to go to the market to buy anything for my unplanned cooking. i wanted to indulge in something i do not know yet.
i ended up buying a big squash and some condenced milk and eggs. i made squash flan (something like a cross between eggpie, and custard cake), and it was experimental. it went nice though, my nieces kept coming back asking for more.
do you have times when you feel like you want something yet you do not know what? do share please.

This seems to be something that has been happening to me more and more often these days. I think that the main reason that I've been craving things and not know what it is that I am craving is because of the fact that I am just sick of eating the same old things all the time. I have been in the mood lately to try out new recipes but we don't have the money to buy the ingredients for experiments that might not turn out very well.

hi dora,
i guess it is the mind set. you are thinking of the same old stuff you are cooking yet you can improve on it. mood has a lot of say in it. and inspiration too.
have a very nice day.

When it comes to shopping I really love the feeling of buying new stuff. But sometimes when I want something, I forget or don't know what that special something is. At times I feel like I'm running errands just to spoil myself. When this happens though, about 80 percent of the time I buy new food products or gadgets that me or my friends will truly treasure. Can't believe when this happens, because I had no sight about what I wanted to buy, yet I purchased something that seems so good. Whenever I want something yet don't know what it is, I shop around two or three stores just to get ideas, and turn home with new products that me or my friends will have to test.

I do have these times. More as I grow older. I keep a file of favorette dishes so that I can read through it and get an idea. This doesn't always help, so we will have eggs, potatoes and ham for dinner. No one complains when this happens they think it's a treat.

Hi,
Sometimes it can happen in my life whereby I just do something
with my planning yet.
It can happen while I am doing the cooking, I will go to
market and get some vegetables, chicken and meat.
Only when I reached home, then I will start to see what vegetables I have
in hand and then only I will start to think what to cook for the day.
However, I will always able to cook some simple dishes out from what I
have in hand.

Anny dear
So you are in mood of making lot of discussions today besides the unplanned cooking and the experiments in kitchen, i remember when we met in your Davao home three years ago, you fed me fried rice, that was almost same as our fried rice , though the rice was not scented 'basmati' rice and spices were less!!
You are no doubt a good cook, so no wonder your neices demand more, hope i will be with you soon..
Thank you so much for this nice discussion..
Professor. . Cheers God bless you. Welcome always.

Yes, i run across times like that. I usually bake or read. Once I tried to make a dutch pancake. It tasted alright but it was huge when I got it out of the oven and then it flattend and it didn't look like it was supposed to.
