for me, it's not really that wrong to take prayer for granted, but you might be missing a lot of of good things that prayer does. prayer wasn't created so we could use it when we need it, but instead we could develop an intimate relationship with God as our Lord and friend. So we could thank Him in every good thing that He has given us, so we could praise HIm in His greatness, so we could declare His faithfulness in our lives, that in times we needed Him to help us in our situation, we are assured that He'll do what is necessary to answer our needs according to His purposes. Enjoy praying every moment of the day. It's simply talking with God. :D
