Studying makes me sleepy sometimes... that is why instead of studying I just go to bed. Maybe I find the topic boring..or maybe it's because I study at night. I try to fight my sleepiness by drinking water or washing my face or brushing my teeth, even exercising..and sometimes it works. What do you do to fight your sleepiness so you can study???

Yes studying does make me sleepy and that's why i spend so much time sleeping in the house also. I just can't seem to concentrate properly on them. My mind is always unstable. Never fixed on one thing. And studying is just one thing. I just can't force myself to site like that for so long. I prefer to spend my time on the internet or just maybe listening to songs. But hey now's exams time and i have to study.
Cheers!

Well It usually does. But what I always do is to sleep after I arrived at home so I feel a little energized to read.

dear lady,
back in the old days? yes. i guess it is something in what you are reading.
in fact i have asked someone why it happens. she said it is probably due to boredom, or tiredness, or lack of interest in what you are studying.

Studying does make me sleepy too. I have definitely fallen asleep on my textbook. I study during the day and into the night, but I take frequent naps. I will just take a nap and get right back to studying. I think it's the best study break kind. I do sometimes drink coffee to combat sleepiness, but sometimes I fall asleep after drinking the coffee because it still takes 20-30 minutes to kick in. I used to get prescribed Adderall for ADHD and that would really help me pull all-nighters sometimes necessary for organic chemistry quizzes at 9 in the morning. I would just stay up all night and then go except for the term I had virology right afterward it was okay. Virology was 2 hours long and I would fall asleep in it a lot, which is sad because it was actually a very interesting class.

I try my best never to fall asleep in class..but sometimes I can't help it- especially if it's 1-2 pm. I don't really like to take any medicine or pills to keep me awake though..I might get addicted to it. And the effect of coffee to me is it makes me sleepy.

Yes, I always begin to feel tired when I study. Good thing is, when that happens, I have a red bull handy or wake up pills from the pharmacy. Those last like 8-10 hours so I can do my studies, run a marathon, then go to sleep :) Another way to study for me is to record my teacher in class, get home, write notes about it, record those notes, and play them when i am asleep at low volumes, for some reason I learn it a lot faster the next day when I go over it. I guess it's because it's repeating so many times.

Well, I'm too lazy to record then write notes about it. I just listen, then write notes, good thing I write fast... But my penmanship is a bit bad that I can't even read y own handwriting sometimes. We all have different learning habits,I'm happy that yours works well for you.

yea sometimes it does. I get sleepy sometimes when i study. And also after studying for a long amount of time i feel sleepy too. But i never feel sleepy when i study my favourite subject or any interesting subject. But whenever i start to feel sleepy i just take a break from studying and have a rest or watch tv and after some time i start to study again. Happy mylotting. Regards, harry.

When you have an interesting topic in your hand you will never feel boring, but when you have a boring subject in your hand it can be boring at times and specially at late nights, it turns to sleepy characteristic. Well by my experience there is a specific time when you feel too much sleepy, if you can be awake then, after that, that sleepiness goes away and you can read even the whole night. Happy reading.....

It's only sometimes I get sleepy. Only if the topic isn't interesting enough. And if I get sleepy I just think that it's almost done and then I can sleep. Or if it's a big topic, i go for a walk or just exercise of some kind. That it's proved that if you can't concentrate you on your homework, a little bit exercise can help you on the way to get more energy, or just enough energy to get reed of all the homework.
