One of the reasons I love myLot is - I can dare to be friends with Chinese, and Pakistanis. I know my country is not in good terms with China and Pakistan. But myLot takes me beyond those boundaries and makes me meet people. They have same feelings as me, and same concerns as me, they have a lot of things to share with me and even guide me (lkbooi, Zhouxi, Gohar, and all others whom I cant possibly mention out here).
Personally, I am not a good person. I carry anger, prejudices, and what nots. But these people have not harmed me, in fact, they've given me good tips. Why am I expected to hate them and love people who have harmed me?
Have you a friend out here from an enemy nation? Do you face similar dilemma as me?
Request - please dont write something against the enemy nations, or individuals there unless you've personally experienced it.

Hello Vannie.
Let me tell you a little secret.
Any government is a bunch of idiots.
They think they know their people, but they don't even know themselves.
Now to get to the point.
I am pissed at some of the people of china for destroying our wold life here, i don't give a flying fig about the government as they are even bigger idiots for letting this happen.
I just cannot see the point of governments letting people hate each other if they don't even know what exactly all of us are really capable of.
See what we do here in mylot.
I sometimes wish some government officials will join this site.
Damn then i will have some good fun.
TATA.

I have participated in some discussions posted by some Chinese . They are good indeed.
I don't know why there is a conflict and some issues between the nations.
i personally don't have any grudges with those neighboring countries.
We are bound by our country's laws and regulations and they are bounded by their laws.
so, it's common that some might have some wrong information about them.
It is good to have good facts about them.
I personally admire mylot, where it has no barriers for any country !!!
Farewell !!!

yes, there are some controversies between two nations but it is only because of our elders.
why to fight on what our elders have done?? this world is already in too much problems, lets finish it by love and humanity

Nina - I have a great deal of regard for you. You are hardworking, and you love somebody. I remember one of your discussions about nuclear bomb and not wanting it. I identify with those feelings. I am not talking against your religion sweetie. I am talking about knowing people and understanding why we are being manipulated and who is manipulating us. You rightly identified them as POLITICIANS. And in the end, is it worth it?
I am honest enough to admit my mistakes kiddo. So - if I made a mistake, or my ancestors did - and you know me as you do - would you hate me? I doubt it. I cant hate you Nina.

Ya, well our country, the US isn't comfortable with Russia or China! But mylot is one of those places that allows me to jump those barriers! I too think mylot is busting down those barriers! I imagine the day there will be too many friends to allow political battles occur anymore. To: Peace On Earth!!!!!!!!! Good Will Among Men!

I agree to that "fighting other country's battles" bit so much!!!
We fought with Pakistan (then West Pakistan) for independence of Bangladesh (East Pakistan). That was sooooooooooooooooooooooooo dumb!!!!
Today we have a permanent enemy in West Pakistan. There is nothing under the sun we can do to correct the situation!!! :(
And we stupid Indians (our pot bellied politicians) didn't learn a thing from that!!!
They again tried something silly with Sri Lanka!!
And India wants to sit in UN's security council!!! With no sense of fair play!
When it didn't trust UN's ability to tackle Bangladesh issue, and Sri Lanka's issue.
I feel like shooting down all these politicians.

Hi 2004cqui - not so long ago, India had Russia as the big brother. But our politicians switched sides. Makes me wonder why dont we think of it in tersm of right and wrong issues instead of switching sides and remaining like married couples, and then divorcing. Being friends does not, after all, mean we cant criticize or be criticized, isn't it? So much for the foreign policies. :(

They can not stop the air to cross the borders. They can not restrict the birds to cross they borders. The geographic and political boundaries have no means, no values. The people talk in the language of love give and have respect. You agree that Pakistanis and Chinese have same feelings of love to share every where in the world. Rules, regulations and restriction could not stop them to exchange their views. We are people of the same planet which we call global village in the age of technology. We should seek and spread peace and only peace all over the world.

Hi Sheenshaukat, I have to agree to this a hundred percent. The air, water, birds, trees, why only that, even our musical notes are the same, what are we fighting for? We fear snakes as much as you do, we fear lions and tigers, and diseases as much as you do. When we are so very much alike physically, mentally, emotionally, why must we have these boundaries? :( Sad that politicians should try to keep on harping on past, and spoil our present. Sad that our priests should use religions to break us apart instead of uniting. :(
But I am so pleased to know that there are sensible folks like you. Makes me hope for better times...

hi vandana is it not so amazing that we can be friends here with one another from all over the world, and not worry because they may come from a country that is not friendly to my own country. maybe some scientists could hone in on what makes us all get along so nicely
even though their country might not admire my country or vice versa.
I think its because we view each other as friends, and friends do help each other, and stick up for each other, and care about each other. we have so much here we could teach say the social sciententists about getting along and being polite and making friends of each other. If they could put this together on a large scale and bring countries into harmony with each o ther, what a wonderful thing that would be?I have friends from enemy nations that I truly love and respect. I have learned so much about other cultures and the ties we all share. love of family and the problems we run into regarding the p eople in our lives, we are not alone, as our friends in so called enemy nations share their worries and concern with us as we share ou rs with them. I am not going to name cou nties but there are somw who really
'make fun of my US but some of it is actu ally good humored fun l ike with the blue bunny . but I am l ike you Vandy I am friends with people who might really hate my US but they do not show me any hate, only kindness, compassion and real love. odd how we all will stand up for our own nation no matter what she does, yet we do groa n at some things we wish our country would takebetter care of.

I agree Hatley - some scientist does need to identify why we can put our differences and hatreds and anger behind and be just "friends".
My country has simply too many cultures. :) You'd think nothing would surprise me. :) But I learnt something nice from lkbooi and so I know that I know nothing. :)
I dont hate your US sweetie. :) I love teasing you all. :) Just for fun. If you ever find it objectionable, please let me know.

Hi ebuscat, we define bad people based on a set of morals, and then again by our needs and anybody who obstructs our needs. At times, people are bad because they have no choice. Like a person kills another person because he is in armed forces, or is in police force. So according to me "bad" man or woman does not exist. I am bad to some, good to some. Likewise, others are good to some, and bad to some. This again varies as per time and context.
I choose not to get lost in this maze of bad and good, right and wrong, people from my religion, and others, my countrymen, and others, including people from other nations,... we humans have divided ourselves in so many pieces. he he.
But the choice is mine. I feel I like people from another nation. And I am not going to say I dont like them just because they belong to a nation with whom we dont get along well. :)

It is an admirable thing. I agree with you. At the end of the day we are all people with a heart and we all have feelings. If only we all tried our best to regulate those feelings. On another point of view, I am so astonished when i think how great an invention the internet is. We communicate and talk with each other and share feelings and comments while we are so very far away. We have different cultures, ages, and upbringings but we can communiacte and be friends. It is such a great thing! :)

Yes, I do have friends here from what you call 'enemy nations'. I'm an Indian myself but I grew up in the Middle East. I had friends of different nationalities. Though most of the girls in my class were Indians, we did have a couple of Pakistanis and Egyptians in our class. Besides that, I would interact with people of different nationalities at the work place. Since I grew up with people of different nationalities, I didn't understand the extent of prejudice that people in India presented. It certainly was a shock to me to experience the kind of hatred that people here have towards the 'enemy country'. I worked at a Chinese government organization...how can I hate the chinese? I saw each person as an individual. If I hate someone, it will be for their qualities and not their nationalities.

Hi SViswan, I agree. Outside the country, we are not as much of enemies as we are. Here, politicians use media to propagate this hatred by releasing selective information. People's minds get filled with fear, and anger, while the politicians fill their Swiss bank balances. Time media divorced politics and exposed the farce. I mean in all nations.

Hullo Vandana!
I do have many friends here and their nationality does not b other me a bit. In fact, I have never thought much of this at all. Moreover, in our own country there have been some caste and community strife isn't it? All that goes above my head and I have friends here and at other places as though I belong to another world altogether.I love my country but I do not have any dislike for any other country.I do not think we are expected to hate them too.We are all human beings and with the advent of the net we interact with friends from all over the world.

I am happy for you. I agree with you completelty. I love this site because I can talk to people from all over the world and without any prejudice. I am not a prejudice person and have never been but I understand how countries can be this way. I live in Canada and we are the most diverse country in the world. We have people from all over the world living here.
And I live in a city, Calgary, that we have a lot of different cultures of people. We have so many different groups that we have celebrations from every culture I think there is in the world. I love going to these celebrations because I love to learn different things and they do have a lot of interesting things to teach us.
Mylot is a lot the same. I think it is neat that I can talk to people from all over the world, right here in mylot. I look at a lot of people's profiles here before I send them a response to see where they are from, just for fun....
I don't follow the national news enough so I don't really know a lot about your countries problems with other countries but that doesn't make a difference to me when it comes to chatting with you. Everyone here in mylot is equal and everyone here in mylot are my friends.
Good luck my friend and happy mylotting

Hi vandana, why are you mentioning enemy nations, since we are here in mylot i never get such feelings at all, we add them all without seeing even the country or place sometimes, i am concerned only about the way they are responding or their discussions. I feel we all are human beings and we all are friends over here thats it. The nation difference will come only to the people who don't have proper understanding of the human beings. Of course we can differentiate because of the place wise I am an Indian, those are from Pakistan or etc.... but we are hear in mylot as friends or members sharing views and thoughts. So i feel this is mylot city. All the time when a new member appears i will say welcome to mylot city, so they never feel that they are from other country and feel comfortable to participate.
Have a wonderful time.
