When to download the free antivirus software

Friends, My new mini note book is two months old. It has antivirus software named Mcfree Internet security on it own, when I buy it. Still it works. But now thery have started to ask me to buy it. That means it is reaching it's closing date. I know I don't want to spend money to buy it. Because I can downlord one for free. Now this is my question: When should I downlord the free antivirus software? There should not be two antivirus soft ware at one time. So when can I delet this and downlord the new one. and please do't forget to suggest a good free antivirus software. Thanks in advance.

I used AVG for years until a computer friend suggested Avast Antivirus which doesn't take up as much memory as AVG, and I am extremely happy with it. It's easy to use, user friendly, gives great protection - and best of all - its FREE! 
There is a paid version (as with AVG), but I have been very satisfied and happy with the Free version.

Thank you for your response. I am going to download it. But please read my discussion again. I asked when to download. Because at the moment I have Mcfree antivirus software. We can't have two at a time. Can i deleate the old one and download the new one? Have a nice day.

sure mam you are right that you should not install two anti virus software at a time.
several site you provide free antiviruses and you can also update them however this is only for limited period.So in my opinion please check your manual that your computer vendor is given or warranty document. there must be possibility that you need not to buy antivirus and your computer vendor will install new anti virus and this is your right if you are using original software.

Hi madam
There are tons of free antivirus, you can download for free and instal, i keep changing mine, now i have the AVG,,when i open pc and when i close pc, i run Advanced Window care V2 Personal always, it deletes all traces of websites visited and recoves disk space too, it is free..

My antivirus is Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes along with Spybot Search&Destroy. I've been using those for a long time and they work for me.
