Do you respond to discussions that already have a best response marked?

If you see a discussion where the poster has already selected a "Best Response" do you still respond to the discussion? Or do you move on to a discussion where a "Best Response" has not yet been chosen?

I respond to every discussion, that I can respond. Although already selected the best response, I would still respond.

Hi there trickiwoo, Actually to be honest, I don't even usually notice if a best response has been marked yet. If I do happen to notice it then that still does not stop me from responding if it is a good discussion. I don't respond in hopes of getting a best response anyway. Also, I notice that a lot of people here give their best response an hour or two into a discussion. I'm gone 10 hours a day at work and when I'm home then I have a lot of other things to do so I'm still not on here all the time. If I were to avoid discussions for that reason then I'd be missing out on a lot of good discussions.

I hardly get any responses an hour or two after I start a discussion!!! I think if you select a BR too early, you risk having fewer responses to your discussions over all! You have to give people a decent amount of time to respond!

The words " one persons trash is another persons treasure" comes to mind here. In theory it is only a BR to that author thus yet. There can be a BR later just not shown as the BR.

Yeah, why not. I mean I am not always hounding for the best response when I decide to respond to a discussion. It's more like, I think it's interesting, I can relate to it, I am bored, why not respond? I don't necessarily try to blow the discussion-starter away with my response. I am too scatter-brained for that kind of thing. LOLL

Hi Trickiwoo. I respond to discussions that intrest me even if the best response has been given. It isn't important to me if I get the best response or not.

It depends on the discussion for me. Honestly, I don't ever even notice if a BR has been chosen or not... I just respond if I feel like I can add any basis to the discussion, although reading some of these posts makes me wonder if I should be mindful about BR's because apparently it means the discussion is over to some. I didn't know this. For me, even if I have chosen a BR please continue to respond because I want to hear everyone's opinions.
