3D Movies, 3D HDTV sets, 3D toys. whats with the 3D movement yeah there's been topics about 3D in the past but really why is the movie and other industries so infatuated with 3D lately? I mean I'm not stupid I know that people seem to be flocking to these 3D films and cartoons there making a lot of money on consumers who love these sort of films, but my goodness dose every film have be in 3D it seem like there's been a big increase in the amount of 3D films being made and are they really better then standard films or are we being sucked into the hype? Tell me why you think 3D film and product making has made such a come back?

All thanks to the success of Avatar. As technology advances, 3D movies will soon be a normal thing. So, it is not surprising that everything is coming to you in 3D version. However, I think I can't take is 3D sports on TV. If you remember not too long ago, a soccer match was beam on TV and it is said that it was the first time that the sports was telecasted in 3D. It just seem so surreal.

It's one big hype. Bluray was a weird hype. It never really picked up pace and now they want us to get dizzy watching 3D movies. I really hope the movie companies understand that we are just not going to be able to follow these trends anymore. It's bloody recession, government is reducing costs so we're being financially hit big time, no money for stuff like that. The first time I watched a Bluray movie was just a few months ago with my former female friend. But no those companies are blind and don't care about us being able to follow the trend, they'll make crazy money anyway.

Well I do think that 3D films are much better than traditional ones. 3D films provide a much technological and in-depth perspective into what we are watching and I feel that 3D usage is better used in horror flicks. The whole purpose of having 3D in movies is to let us sort of go into the movie itself and we actually see the characters like they are actually there, when they do any movement, simple ones, like touching, we will get a feel that they are actually touching us this and that. So what happened when this 3D is applied in horror movies??? OMG, that would be really exciting and exhilarating right? The world is changing and don't forget we are now revolutionized. Everything has to change and technology too. It'll become better and more advanced for the years to come.

Yes I have noticed that it was all put into 3D now. but thanks to the best movie of all time for me: Avatar. That is the original 3D movie that I saw. Everything should be original and not put a regular movie in to a 3D version.

I would agree. In addition to that 3D does not replace a good story, depth of characters or striking themes in films.

I don't think it's making a comeback, so to speak, but rather we are just now having the technology to advance with it. I dislike it, but it's the same thing as when films first came out. They were something new. Then we added sound, and then color and the they became HD and now they are 3D. So, it's typical that we would be advancing because humans are always wanting more and to explore. I think the 3D thing will last for awhile, though. I don't know what will come next.

I saw a couple of movies in 3d since the whole frenzy started. It is true that the technology is now worth it; nothing compared to the horrible things you could see before. Though, it is becoming an excuse for making some more useless movies. As if 3d was self sufficient. I saw Avatar and I thought it was the most horrible thing ever invented. I never stopped to be bored. If you watch this movie without the 3d, who cares about the story. I think the technical prowess is encouraging, but if only cinema productors had brains to go with it.

Lately there have been a lot of 3D movies. To me its stupid. I havent bothered to go see a 3D movie. For one it costs almost double the price of a regular movie ticket. Another thing is they had Jacka$$ in 3D or regular Jacka$$ for lower cost. The theater I went to only had the regular version not the 3D and it was awesome. I dont think seeing it in 3D would have made it any better it was great as it was. I was worried that my date wouldnt want to see a regular version but he was cool with it.

I completely agree. The 3D craze is just so foreign to me. I think that some movies actually are better 3D, though. For example, I greatly enjoyed seeing Avatar in 3D and feel that it was well worth it. But seeing Jacka$$ 3D? I didn't even know it was offered! LOL! I don't think it's something I would have invested in though, because that's a movie I feel you could get the same effect watching "regular"... and you're right, it is cheaper! LOL!

Yes some things could be better in 3D such as cartoons but most things really probably dont make them any better seeing them in 3D. I dont think Jacka$$ would have been any better if it had been in 3D but I cant say for sure. I was at wal-mart last night and saw a shirt on a sale rack that was a 3D shirt and came with 3D glasses. So yeah this craze of 3D stuff is everywhere all the sudden.

yes is true 3d now is the newest deal for in many fields!!I htink that industries tried in the past the lauch about 3d but there was a unsuccess because technologies can't support this standard at all!!So years later they try anothe lauch also because technolggies now are improved and so users can have a better experience!!In many cases they should develop something new to capture interests and so money.

I agree, it's over kill! And it's overpriced. I refuse to go anymore to a 3-d film. I am just not impressed with it. I hope the trend ends soon.
