Well looks as if the Military has finally spoken on this issue and the Republicans are Refusing to listen at least one is. McCain! The one who was all for doing what the Military said.

So why are the Republicans not going to listen to the DOD. Hmmm maybe they have other issues with Gays besides what the Military thinks of it.
What are your thoughts will the DOD's Report help Repeal it?
Are the Republicans Still right in not wanting to repeal it, even after the Military green lights it?

The military hasn't "green lighted" it. A few Generals have. The servicememebers are pretty mixed on it in general. The incompetent press jumps on lies like this to further their leftist agenda.
Prs. Obama ordered the pentaton to do indepth studies, not on how anyone feels about lifting the ban on openly gay people serving, but to determine the feasibility of doing it.
Apparently very few people are willing to wait for that report. They want activists judges to usurp authority by "ordering" the military to lift the ban. But what is wrong with waiting for the study?
Meanwhile, people who would be rioting if their employers forced them to change their clothes in front of random coworker have no problem with the servicemembers employers doing the same.
If you wouldn't drop your pants in front of your coworkers, shut up!

ok, don't shut up, you still have the right to speak out.. but at least understand why others are speaking out against it.

You do realize that the Republicans are the ones who took DADT to court?
The military is a little different than a normal Employer as you sign a contract with the Military and they get the enjoyment of telling you what to do and how to do it. The Military is kinda like Jail you are not in control of what happens to you period.
A Few Generals...The Head Military leader green lighted the repeal and so did Gates.

Gays are currently in the military and most of the ex military guys I have talked to and their is even groups of straight people who served that either knew gays that where serving in their squads or are themselves ex service members who where gay and had to keep it a secret. That can right there destroy a dynamic fabric of a squad. I also think that people need to realize that the Military has over come two issues women in the military as well as blacks or other racial minorities being in the military the Military has since made it against the Military Legal Code to be sexist as well as racist. Those two are offenses that can get you kicked out, Dishonorable I might add.

The military is going to have their feasibility study in under a month. Give them the time to do what they need to do. The worst thing you can do for all involved is force the issue. Forcing the issue has a very bad tendency to backfire especially on the people it "supposedly" is helping. Cool your heels a bit. Let them figure out the best way to implement new policy without changing the basic mission. An organization as big as the Military can not adapt or change overnight. Really, the activist judges are at fault here. They are trying to undermine the President, Congress, and Military authority. The problem is not changing the policy. The problem is doing it such a way that all parties are treated in the same manner. Addressing issues such as a gay man hitting upon a straight one. Addressing such issues as two gay men "going out" in the same platoon. A definite NO, NO, even for those who are opposite in gender. Etc...

That doesn't say that it won't happen. It is still an issue that has to be considered. While some may have pretty good radar, doesn't mean that everyone does. You gotta remember the people who are entering the military are barely old enough to vote. There are bound to be misconceptions on who is what. Again, the military is dealing with the issue. Let them deal with it in a way that won't affect the mission.

It seems that the leaked info on the report has stated that the military has looked at it and said that it is nothing that the military will not be able to handle. So I am all for waiting for them to release the report but I also think that if it does state that the Military will have no issues with completing the missions at hand. Then they should repeal it as that was the only defense that exist for having DADT their really isn't any other thing that would stop it as everything else the Military has already dealt with as well as has laws for, under the Military Uniform Code of Justice.

Their is always pros and cons to it but kicking out people who want to serve their country I believe is more harmful than getting rid of a way for people to avoid their commitment to the Military. Personally I believe if you sign up and fail to preform you duty through a fault of your own that you should be court marshaled and sent to military prison until your commitment would be over. Also I think you should have to do some work while you where locked up.

This is really a ridiculous issue to even bother with repealing at this point. They have placed all branches of services in a position to say "oh we don't have the means to repeal this properly and control what the homophobic will do soooo we just aren't going to follow the repeal".

The DOD has followed what the court ordered within like a day or two of it being ruled unconstitutional until Obama's Administration had the court stay the order. Also under the Uniform Military Code you can be kicked out for being Racist or Sexist and it will result in an dishonorable discharge.

I am well aware of that. However, the people who surround you must not share that view point for you to be kicked out. Let's say there is a Sgt out there who is outspoken on his beliefs and treats his soldiers as such, blatant racism (lets just use that for an example) if his higher ups are racist as well, he won't get kicked out. This is the same reason people get the you know what kicked out of them and even though it is reported, it gets swept under the rug as if nothing happened. So unless all of the people abused go to the media, the majority f incidents will never be tried and the people guilty of such behavior will go free.

What gets lost in the fog of Republican opposition towards repealing DADT is that it was a Republican group that got the repeal of DADT started. It was the Log Cabin Republicans that filed the lawsuit that originally got DADT ruled unconstitutional. So the GOP is fighting against it's own members but that is nothing new. If you are apart of a minority group with in the party you might as well not exist. Has the GOP forgotten that Secretary Gates is also one of them? Remember how he was the Bush's hand pick Secretary of the Surge. It is time for DADT to be repealed so people who decide to serve their country do not have to serve it in a closet.

Yeah and the report even talks of how current service members feel that their comrades should be able to serve openly. Hmm seems the Republicans are losing ground.
The Log Cabin Republicans maybe the Only logical Conservatives that haven't subscribed to the Christan Conservative Movement.
