What type of cakes do you like to cook ?

i like to bake simple cakes like chocolate cake, carrot cake, banana cake, cheese cakes and almost anything that is readily simple to cook and bake. Although there are a lot of tasty and fabulous cakes but it takes a Professionally trained Baker to do one. How I wish I can bake my own wedding cake! wouldn't that be awesome?

I don't do alot of baking but when I do it's something very normal like chocolate...with the exception of around my son's birthday....then it's angel food....his very favorite!

I can't compete with how a cake purchased from a bakery tastes. I do just make the plain yellow, confetti, or chocolate ala box. I'd like to learn how to make something better w/o breaking the bank as the ala box ones I can make for say under $3 cheese cake and beyond costs alot more money that I don't currently have to spare.

Strawberry Shortcake!!!! If, when it is my time to die, it is taking some time, I want my family to stuff my mouth with strawberry shortcake. I'll then be able to die a VERY happy person! After that, I'd have to say spice cake. After that, maybe pumpkin cake. Actually, pumpkin cake tastes a lot like spice cake because a lot of the same spices are used in both. After that, probably chocolate. Anything chocolate is good, naturally. I made an angelfood cake once that had some "issues." The recipe said to "fold" the batter and do not mix it with a mixer or a whisk. This is to keep air bubbles out of the mix because, once they get in the batter, they turn into HUGE gaping holes in the finished cake! Mine had some of those huge, gaping holes. Still, it tasted pretty good.

Me fave cakes are cheesecakes. There's basically no cake that can outdo a cheesecake...except maybe a chocolate overload cake.

My favorites to make are actually cupcakes, cheese cakes, lemon cakes and mocha cakes. I guess it is because those cakes are the ones I like the best, so that is probably why. And it is really fun to decorate cupcakes especially too!
