What do you think? Which one's the best? In my opinion Linux is better than windows, it never crashes or freezes on the screen unlike windows. I love Linux. What are your votes?

First of all let i say i have both and i keep both. Every time my windows crash about 5 times already and i have to say my linux never crash not even once. I love that about linix. But i will have to say it is difficult to handle when it comes on to adding programs etc. So i will still keep my windows for the ease of that.

Ya finding programs for Linux is challenging. Thats why Linux is coming with many inbulit/program ready softwares now-a-days. Have you tried the Ubuntu 10.04 module? Its superb, it starts within 4-5 seconds and shut downs in just under 3 seconds. ~cheerio~

Oh sorry, actually I am using Ubuntu 10.10, wrote that in confusion. It is 10.10 version that has inbuilt plugins, not 10.04. Although I am using it with a software(VMWare) for my PC I am enjoying it. Thanks for your time. And by the way, I really love the themes of Ubuntu, they are awesome.Aren't they? ~cheerio~

I think there certainly is a reason why Windows is more popular... I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and I like it? I think Windows is a lot more user-friendly..

win7 is user friendly but it reserves most of the graphics buffer 4 itself... so if u play games on win7 it would b u tears glitches and a lower fps as compared 2 xp the fps of windows can b related as fps of xpvistawin7 Linux is good, but for gaming purpose and better software compatibility windows is opted out. ~cheerio~

Hi dante, I'd go for Linux operating system. Currently though we're still on the process of migration from Windows XP since Linux requires a higher RAM, a minimum of 512MB and most of our systems are still using lower than that. We used to keep and run our Windows apps on Linux-based OS by an adapter software on the units we have converted to keep the familiar environment going.

Ya the migration from Windows to Linux is a hectic process. But once you do that, you will be rocking. Yesterday I was talking to a friend of mine, he has been using Linux since two years now. He told that it never crashes, and that too on a very wide average because his system has been up for 165+1(including today) days now. I said WOW!!! But the only issue for me is that I am using Linux in my Laptop, but as my desktop is a little old the drivers for Linux are not available. So planning to bring a new and upgraded PC soon, then can enjoy Linux..he he... Thanks for your time. ~cheerio~

Yes, I also think Linux is better than Windows but, when I tryed the version 7.04 some years ago, I was not so satisfacted by this OS. So I just deleted it from my computer and now I am with Windows Vista SP2 in my new laptop but I'd like to try Linux Ubuntu 10.10 now, but I can't install it!

Yeah the previous versions of Ubuntu weren't that user friendly. We had to search for most of the drivers and plugins. You should install Ubuntu 10.10, its superb, I am sure you will love it. ~cheerio~

Linux is very popular, today all most many universities and colleges are using Linux in their labs, home users are using various open source modules like Ubuntu and Fedora and are quite contented with them. Ya I agree that Windows is more popular, its because its easy and various programs are available for this OS. ~cheerio~
