ya a nightmare exactly.
just imagine there will be no flights, oh God how will people travel such long distances?

In about 50 years or so , there is going to be a sudden increase in petro chemical products , so we have no other way but to invent something as efficient as petroleum products . The current technology offers solar energy which is not sufficient to power the high energy requirements of today . One good innovation that has a great chance of taking the place of crude oil products is the " Hydrogen Cell " . It has a high calorific value , and no other by products when used other than water which can be harvested and used . But this technology is still in its childhood days and still needs to worked upon is that it reaches the masses .

Ya the Hydrogen Cell is a promising step.
Even scientists are working on to control the nuclear reactions, if they succeed then we can have a suitable and efficient replacement for petroleum products.
Lets hope the best.

Even an efficient way of tapping renewable energy resources would be great . A new kind of Solar panel using enriched lithium is under construction . Scientists claim that it can produce two time the energy of a conventional solar cell . So that too seems a good idea . And if scientists find a easy way to make nuclear fusion in a controlled way , then most of our power crisis would be solved and we can use electricity for everything as fusion releases more energy that the present used technology of fission . There has been and innovation in producing electricity . It is a kind of pad which can be placed in crowded places on the ground . When people step on it , it produces electricity . That too is a promising way to produce electricity in future .

Ya heard of that in a science conference.
Many countries are even working on making energy from nuclear resources.
Hope it turns out positive.

I'm working in this sector so I sure didn't want it to run out now. bUt if it do happen, I have to find new job.
Can we cope up when Petroleum eventually run out? I think yes we can. There is a lot of research done for renewable energy now.
But there is also many country will find it hard to sustain their country if they didn't do something fast now. There is a lot of country depend solely on petroleum. So I think this country will have the effect most and maybe they might go bankrupt and have to sell their country. Who knows.
