Photos With Santa Clause

So every year I get my daughter a photo with Santa it is usually our Christmas Card. Well it has been the same guy for three years. This year was a new guy and I wasn't really happy but got the picture any way. I guess every year I am never happy with the picture but I grow to love it. Do you have this problem. I have never taken my daughter anywhere else to have pictures done as I really hate too many posed pictures some of the best and favorite ones are ones that I have taken myself. At this point I am pretty sure if I took her to have pictures done they would never ask me back. I guess that I am picky and I don't mind taken over 100 pictures before I get the one that I really love. I wish I was over stating the number but I probably am understating it good thing I have a 4GB memory card. What do you like posed pictures or candid shots and have you ever gotten pictures that you were disapointed with?

I've been taking my granddaughter for her photos and it has been with the same guy, I love her photos. This year I get to take my granddaughter and grandson. I can't wait to see how they turn out! My daughter and son in law also had santa pictures made (they were 18 and 20 at the time) and the Santa they used, I did not like at all..he was a bit creepy looking!

I was just heart broken I don't know what happened to the other Santa. The new guy was ok but honestly he was too young to be Santa too much black you could still see in his beard. I hope yours turn out great and I am glad that he wasn't creepy.

When Kathryn was little they used to hate me at the photo studio because there were so many times that I would make them get rid of the pictures that they had taken to start off with because there were things about them that I was not happy with. However, I've been mostly taking my own pictures for the past several years and I would say that I discard as many pictures as I keep. In addition to that, I also think that more candid shots turn out better than posed shots.

Thank goodness there are digital cameras now or I would go broke just trying to get good pictures! I agree I probably discard more than I keep it usually takes me a lot of them before I get the shot that I was looking for although I have had a great number of happy accidents and gotten really great pictures.

My husband has a degree in photography. He hardly ever takes pics of our family. He's tired and worn out from work. So I asked him to teach me to use the fancy camera. I do a lot posed shots, but I also try to get candid ones. Sometimes the candid ones end up looking pretty posed. We take hundreds upon thousands of pictures a year. When I do pics of the kids, I easily end up taking 2 or 3 hundred of them and only really liking about a dozen. That's par for the coarse. I'm so happy that we are digital. That kind of picture taking could get very expensive with film. When the kids got school pics taken I was almost always disappointed with them. Now, I just do them myself. That way I know I'm getting a quality pic that I know that I'll like. Also, I'm better at getting the kids to give me a natural smile and not looking so posed and stiff.
